Just wanted to share some thoughts about my car.

She was delivered on the 8th from Lynford WA which makes it something like 435 days since order. The dealer experience during this wait was disgusting, we never stuck to one person and ended up meeting 5 different sales people. However, the actual delivery day was very smooth. She was in immaculate condition. Like how everyone else says, it's worth the wait!

I chose Magnetic as my colour and I have to say, I think it is the perfect colour. Its not too "hot" or too subtle. Her curves are so beautiful from every angle. Shame we don't get real DRL and taillights. But honestly, she is so damn good looking, I didn't know there was such a thing as mechanical love.

The driving experience is awesome. The stock wheel feels great to use. The brakes are surprisingly controllable and smooth, one of the best aspects about the car in terms of the mechanical side. My other car is a '12 XR6 which is also an excellent car. The throttle in that car is sharp, maybe a bit sharper than the Mustang in my opinion. Another thing to get used to is the length of the hood, it's so good to look at but when turning, it feels like you're swinging a long sword! :D

Complaints. Two minor things that bug me is the scratchy plastic on the armrest, around the mirror controls and response speed of Sync 2. Can't complain too much though. The other major thing I don't like is the absence of a digital speedo. Although I can get used to the gauge, I'm a precise person so I want to see exactly how fast I'm moving. I thought it would be a very easy thing to implement and a necessary addition to a sports car.

The car also gets a lot of attention in the streets. Partly because it's a Mustang but also maybe partly because its being driven by me, a young Asian (responsible) driver. Going from a Ford to another Ford :ford:, I get friendly abuse from friends since they think society dictates that I should be driving a 370z or an 86 or some other Nissan and pretend I'm in Tokyo Drift. But its all fun and banter. They secretly envy the Mustang. Overall, the responses to the car have been 100% positive.

Sometime in the near future, I plan on getting vinyl stripes and tinting applied. I installed the Blingworks LEDs already, that was a pain in the neck (actually should say pain in the thumb). The Roush side scoop, JLT can and Borla S Type AB are on their way.

Although I've been fairly quiet in these forums, I'd like to thank Mustang 6G Aus for guiding me through the journey.

+1 for Perth

Silly question but are V8s P-plate-able in WA? I am assuming that's what the P is inside the windscreen.

Racial profiling of car ownership is ridiculous. A new Mustang means people of all types will be buying this given Australia's changing demographics.

Happy driving!

Thankfully, yes they are!

Yes that's right, but as I said, its just friendly banter between friends :D

By the way, I have a 2012 XR6T and I agree that the throttle seems more responsive than the Mustang GT (only driven one twice), even though I don't think it's the best either. See the discussion elsewhere about installing a PedalMax gadget to improve the throttle response. It's something I'll be thinking about when mine arrives.

Good review. I feel exactly the same with the above comment! I'm going from a '12 GTI and I am so used to the digital speedo, I was looking all through the menu of the Mustang when test driving it and was very surprised to not find at all. Updateable?

You can get the digital speedo to come up in the screen between the dials

Seen youtube video that showed you get in the car, put foot on brake, hold the ok button on and press engine start button. Center screen changes and one of the screens comes up as a digital speedo. Heap of other sensor readings also. Have a look for it as i cant post it at the moment as Im on me phone at work. I think it was for when the service guys at Ford are checking all the readings for the sensors n stuff. I dont know if its just for the American cars as I haven't tried it on my car yet.

Found the video on youie

Check it out if you're interested
Yes that just shows that the technology/software is already there! It would be so easy for Ford to just make a real digital speedo screen instead of having to go into ET mode.

Nevermind, Ford already has! Its just that us regular Mustangs don't get it. :paddle::crazy::headbonk:

Digital speedo is available to have on permanently. Take a squizz in the technical sub-forum and you'll see how.

Saw this clip a while ago,so had a look on ebay.I couldn't find a gt350 cluster available.Should be standard on all cars ,plus would make it easier to check if your speeding.

I think the Mustang is the first car I've owned that suits my profiling - as a big/tall white guy... Everything before has been a small car (if I wear a hat, the button on top hits the ceiling in 3 of them), with a few Japanese cars thrown in!

So, phooey to that! :)
It's about what you enjoy, not what anyone else thinks you should.
Unless you enjoy Camrys, in which case you need a paddling :paddle:

Enjoy the car, Harvey!
