RIP Manders Evap core.

Booked in Tuesday to be looked at. Can't wait to have my dash ripped apart. :@
Surely if your evap core has gone, they'd all blow hot?

Not from what I was reading on the other threads..

By equal discretion, if the gas/refrigeration had gone would they all not blow one temp?

I would guess its not your evap core.....yet
you are still getting cold in the middle 3 it could be a blend door or temp valve. My one did some strange things before it was the faulty wiring loom diagnosed.Someone else on here had similar to me and it was some control valve.

I actually whacked the A/C on today, it was fine, Someone else had mentioned the blend door, no idea what this is, but it seems to be "ok" for now - I've rang ford and told them but it needs to go in for a leaky timing cover anyway (common issue with the EBMs) just needs resealing this time.

That’s because it has a leak and they wanted to just charge you to re-gas it

That's what I said at the time, I also said that when it happens again I would be bringing it back to them and will be demanding a refund.

You don’t have to make it up, Ford do it for you.

Regas = leak.

There’s some good mobile air con guys about. I’d use one of them, then enjoy the air con and the punch up with Ford through the claims process.

Sorry to hear this
These units do not come from the factory half filled, this is bull.If your blowing hot air on AC you have a major component failure or a evap core leak.Ford know this, it is well documented but some dealorships cant be bothered to pull your dash.Re gasing is just the easy option.
When my heater failed drivers side it took me a few visits to prove that i had a continuing problem. They diagnosed the faulty wiring and pulled my dash out and renewed the loom and connectors.

You do know that by official regulations on vehicle based AC it is ok to loose 20% of your gas in a 12 month period, that is not classed as a leak, that is allowable loss.

If any dealer or company be it mobile or fixed do a re gas the correct procedure is to do a leak test first.

Drain all existing gas and liquid, fill with nitrogen and leave for at least 2-4 hours preferably overnight.

That way you will determine if there is in fact a leak (if anything) and where it is, could be any number of places.

Then fix or replace and re fill.

My wife's Nissan Micra A/C has gone 13 years without a re-gas or service and still works fine.
America is the home of A/C systems, - why can't they make them like this today?

My 8 yr old fiesta van is still blowing out ice cold air
Never been touched
Some of the mustang parts just keep on failing, and they continue to fit them.

The trouble with Ford service is, because Ford recommend aircon on a Mustang to be regased every 3 years, they then decide a car that is close 2 year old needs regassing as it’s close to 3 years old
