You're comparing a previous gen year car to a whole new gen model year of sales.
Funny, the 2010 new generation Camaro went up against an old Mustang generation that was already 5 years into production, but that did not keep the GM fanboys from bragging about outselling the Mustang in that year. Hypocrite much? But, hey, at least it's becoming clear who the Camaro trolls are on the board.

Maybe but if sales are V8s even better for GM...and all the magazines are saying the SS is the best car for your $$$ and the one to get....so that could be why there is less interest in the V6.
carefull about celebrating too early, remember this is GM! Recently they have a knack of "revising" numbers after hitting lots
Remember ATS gained weight and the Trucks lost 2k lbs of tow rating

I don't know one person who based their car-buying decision on what a magazine had to say. I can only hope people buying cars are not that naive.

Magazines will always say the top of the segment is the car to get.

It's one tool people use to make their decisions to deny that is....

Came to this thread for the venomous fanboys and was not disappointed. Brand loyalty to the point of foaming at the mouth is truly an indication of a mental defect.

Its not a very good tools to use. Magazines never get the best times. People should go to the forums and see real world results how they are doing in whatever type of racing that interests them. People that care about magazine racing and leaving their cars stock use this to help them decide.

Id rather find my own info i can trust then what some magazine is going to try to spoon fed a load of crap

While I would agree that most of them do not get the best times. But testing the cars on the same day, on the same track, with the same driver is going to give you a pretty good idea of how they stack.

On top of that it only take Ford 1 year to wipe out and then some Camaro sales lead. 12-0 sweep

The cancellation of the Camaro in 2003 was deeply traumatic to the Bowtie faithful..so much so I think they cannot handle nearly ANY less than amazing news about the car.

I got nostalgic the other day and read one of the early reviews of the 2010 Camaro..and people were hyper-praising it too...talking about how it was better than a Porsche and such..now people just rip it to ribbons.

People can say what they will about "it's the clear choice" in sales and such...guess what? The 1970 T/A Challenger was better on the street and on the track in many ways than both the Z/28 and Boss 302...it still ended up only having a one year run. The Hemi Challenger and Cuda both were King Kong in the corner..both gone after 2 years...why? $$$$$$$$

Being king of the mountain of performance doesn't do you a damn bit of good if the price of entry is higher than the majority can or want to pay.

i could not agree more. And this is what scares me about the pricing of the SS. It did not bother me, because to me, its worth every penny. But to some, it may not be.

For me..the pricing of a new SS is outside of my comfort level..hell even the base GT is tickling the edges.

It's a big part of the reason I'm looking at low mile, last gen cars...2011-2012 Mustang GT's, 2009-2010 Challenger R/T's and 2010-2012 Camaro SS's. They can all be had with 30K miles for the low 20's or even high teens if you're lucky.

But that's my personal situation..that's me. I know in my case my monthly commitment to a 1SS, with insurance, would be nearly $600 a month...that's not insignificant in my monthly finances..hell my student loan payments are nearly that much.
