I have drove two Camaro SS's, auto and stick. Both felt like they had a miss at idle, both audible and in feel. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just a characteristic of the LT1.

I noticed this with my Dad's LS3 C6 vette. Ford and Chevy have different NVH requirements I believe. His LS3 had a little more vibration at idle which was alarming to me, but realized it was normal.

What exactly do you like more about it, or dislike? I am trying to decide between both and its a hard decision.
That's the thing. I can't figure out what it is that makes me like it more. I never would have thought I would own a gm car. But once I found out they were throwing the corvette engine in it, I have it a shot and it impressed me. I guess the sound of the camaro is better than my mustang even with its magnaflow catback. The engine is crazy responsive and makes so much torque. I'm doing the engine break in and I haven't even really noticed myself wanting more torque. I am only going up to 4k rpms and the thing just flies still. The steering response I would was a tad better in the mustang, but nothing too crazy. I like the my link too and the gauges. The sync 3 system for some reason doesn't always connect to my phones Bluetooth on its own. And when it does, it takes a little bit. Sometimes I have to remove my device from sync and set it up again for it to work. But the my link connects just seconds after turning on the camaro every single time. And I hated the look of the camaro interior from pictures, but once you get it it, it kinda feels futuristic. The seats in the camaro are terrible however. I had a 2 1/2 hr drive yesterday and my lower back started hurting a bit. So I tried to give you a few things right there. I'm still a Ford guy all the way, and I always will be. I love my f250 and I still love my mustang. I just have to give some credit to gm on this one. They made a great car. Either one you buy, your gonna love. It's just a matter of what you like more. And this year, I just happen to like the camaro a bit more than my mustang. But I expect ford to respond in a big way. I can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve.

There is a shake at idle. But it's not anything that makes me nervous or anything haha

I freaking love my seats. Absolutely hate the C7 seats. Worst performance seat for me. And I know most people love them haha. I drove 8 hours in my SS in one day and fell in love with my seats.

I'm pretty tall so maybe it's just me. Lol. But im not complaining at all. He just wanted some comparisons. I'll deal with a little back ache in return for the smile on my face when I open the throttle.

Yeah I'm like 5'10 180ish pounds. The first time I did a full throttle run it really did surprise me. And my previous car was a gen 2 CTSV

Shame that GM hates the military, I'd like to test drive one but that won't happen until they start selling them in Europe probably.

Some things I forgot to put in the first post:

I liked the shifting in the SS better and would prefer a Tremec in the Mustang over the MT82.

The Camaro panel fit was MUCH better than Mustangs I've seen. After seeing horrible mismatches between the fascia and sheet metal in the PP I test drove I looked at every Mustang they had, including the back lot. I'd estimate over 50 S550s. There were only 3 in the bunch I could live with and 2 of those just barely. So the dealer I order from has to put in writing that they will shim (or whatever) to make them as good as those 3 were BEFORE I sign the papers. They won't want to because I doubt Ford will pay for that before or after the sale. And they better not think I'm bluffing because by then, the 2017 order banks will be open or close to being open and I was on the fence anyway.

I do NOT like big wheels. I wish the PP wheels I'm getting were 18s. But if I did like big wheels, the Camaro would win that department. SSs come with 20s AND were designed for taller wheel tire combos. So the 20s come with 40 series tires not rubber bands.

If you want to debadge (I do), the Camaro wins that also. More subdued badging (a plus if don't debadge) and none of the badges have pins that go thru holes in the sheet metal (WTH was Ford thinking).

Gigantic props to Ford for Adaptive Cruise even with a manual trans. Pissed me off big time I couldn't get it in my Cadillac because it had a manual trans. Minor unprops (is that a word?) for not automatically reengaging adaptive cruise if you have to shift due to changing traffic speed. My Cadillac regular cruise lets me shift without disengaging. But I think I might figure out a way to make the Mustang automatically reengage.

I covered more of the things I liked better about the Mustang in the first post. Overall it was not a hard decision for ME to go with the Mustang.
