6R80 or TH400

Swapping to auto and turbo. Will street drive the car more than strip. 1100+ rwhp. Which do you suggest and why.

What about a 4R70?

6r80 is better for the street with 2 extra gears. Scenario: I can go to the track make 7 solid 10 second passes then gas up and drive to Florida From Delaware to visit my sister and get 25 mpg the entire way down. Neither the 4r70 or the turbo 400 has that level of efficiency..

Well they do have a very similar OD ratio and lockup, so not sure how you’d get better mileage on the freeway. But yeah with a stock computer the 6R makes sense.

If aftermarket (Holley, etc.) the 4R is something to consider.

Turbo 400 has no OD. You'd hate driving that thing long distances.

6r80s can be built very very strong. Do it.
