Please understand that Ford will schedule plenty of 5.0L's this week. The report shown at the onset of this post is just telling us dealers not to try to order any additional 5.0L's this week beyond what we've already ordered. Orders already turned in by dealers nationwide are what exhausted the supply of 5.0L's for the weeks listed, so orders in already can still be scheduled.

It's one thing for people to post up these reports. It's an entirely different thing for everyone to be able to understand what that info really means.
Thanks for clarification[emoji1]

What about orders turned in months and months ago that haven't been assigned VINs yet?

Now, I just placed my order on 09/26. It could be a moot point. There are a few people that ordered a few days or so before me and have gotten their VINs and production date. Is it likely that I could get a VIN today?

Wow, seems like a lot of constraints lately. Was this poor planning or are orders through the roof?

This is not poor planning. this is vendors unable to meet the demand that Ford placed on them months ago. Ford buyers are not fumbling around wondering what happened, and they are not calling vendors saying "Hey, i have 3 widgets left, can you send me some more?". They have their orders already in to the supply chain and have their orders placed to meet to demand.

Ford will continue to produce the same number of cars each and every day. No supplier shortages are going to shut down the plant. Part of the buyers job is to know the rate at which the parts he is responsible for will be depleted, and has his orders into the suppliers months in advance. these constraints are vendor failure to meet their schedules.
