I’m aiming to convince Girodisc to make the front rotors for the 4 piston GT/EBPP brakes. They already make a compatible rear. I got in touch with a sales manager, he told me they have considered this before but need a show of interest. A commitment from 10 or so will do it, I’ll be first in line.

The 4 piston calipers are decent performers, but significantly flawed by the inverted hat rotor. Two-piece rotors would solve the cooling issue.

Critics will say this is a waste of money that could be put to Brembos, but the 4 pistons fit over 18” wheels, factory spare tire, and I can keep more of the originality of the car. For me the weight reduction is just a side benefit (and yes the eye candy factor helps).

Anyone else interested in this upgrade?

Don't. You'll never convince them. The money should be put to Brembos 6 piston. Steeda already makes a quality 2pc rotor for the 4 pistons should you desire it.

The issue is the shape of the caliper and it interfering with the rotor hat attachment.

We looked into in 2016, since, Girodisc has developed new rotor castings that fit these more compact applications.

If you buy OEM rotors for a 2021 up, it will be cooled conventionally. Ford finally corrected that mistake.

 That is, in fact, a much better solution. You learn something new every day. Thanks a lot!

Motorcraft #BRRF-448 or Ford Service #KR3Z-1125-J is the correctly cooled rotor.

If you search those numbers you will find the correct part. Local Ford dealer or online.

They are 21.4 pounds so a Girodisc version would remove weight. For example, Girodisc just finished a rear 2013-2014 rear rotor for the GT500, 100% Customer driven. They have been selling like crazy due to demand. This is on a car out of production for a decade. That OEM rotor weighs 16.8 pounds, Girodisc drops down to 12.2. If you do the math it will drop a worthwhile amount on the 4 Piston Rotor.

Girodisc has been very busy releasing new designs, partly due to us, we already had them design the 2024 Brembo/DH parts. It's a large financial commitment to even program the machining centers and buy material so if you guys can email us at [email protected] we can start a list to make it financially feasible for Girodisc to put these in production.

We don't need money commitments or pre-buys, just a level of interest to see if we can budget it.
