The production version 1 for the gt350 went through 15 iterations in 7 days. The version 2 took 3 iterations over 7 days. . . . I have a GT350 in my garage. I wanted the oil filter guide for my car, so I had a massive incentive to complete it quickly.I would have imagined that you simply print the funnel, put it on a car, find the problems, fix the design, print the new one and repeat. In one month you should either have the product or quit.
The Mach 1 is a different story. The design is mostly being done by @Gearz (not on the west coast) with input from @JuicySmollet (west coast) and myself (Midwest). Once we redesign an existing design, I have to take a break from printing other items for paying clients to print a prototype (for a car I don’t own and a product I won’t make much money on). That prototype then gets shipped to California to test at Mr. Juicys convenience. He then makes a video, sends feedback, we collaborate, make design changes and start over.
It’s important to know this is a hobby endeavor for all of us, more so for the other two fellas. I’ll be making a LITTLE money by selling them, but it’s extremely low volume and extremely low profit. Each of us has a full time job, a family, and generally….. other shit to do, so each step happens when we have free time and it’s convenient.
Now, if you’d be so kind as to ship me your Mach 1 from Prague to use for prototyping for a week, I’d be more than happy to give you the 35’th one off the line.
