The camber plates are standard on the R but they are not installed at the factory. Per my current experience, my 2019 R has been at the dealership for 8 days today trying to get the installation of the camber plates done. The selling dealer is paid by Ford Performance for the installation, the plates are shipped separately by FP to the dealership. Make sure they get installed and get proof of the alignment or you will be 17 hours away and paying for this yourself.

Some of the dealerships do not understand this process and I had to get FP involved to get this done. My dealership is a small town also but only an hour away for me.
OK you were correct good call. That new 2020 builder is misleading that they don’t say they are still shipped separate. I confirmed that they do have the parts and their manager is very familiar with the shelbys because he owns one thank you.

I realize that a 17 hour drive is a long ways away but with all due respect the way that a dealership looks inspects these cars/pictures compared to you and I is a great deal different.

Maybe there is someone that you know or someone on our forum that might be close to the dealership who could inspect on your behalf prior to departure?

After taking delivery of a 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 I found an issue on every car most of which was transportation damage with the 2015 requiring a paint correction due to sitting out in the elements for ~5 months. Had damage to a right front CF wheel on one car and was so easy to miss.

Taking a close look at the picture that you posted it looks as though the right front wheel has a locking lug nut installed on your CF wheel which is good.

Did you hire an enclosed car transporter or an open car transporter for your car?

I guess I got lucky with mine Harry with Ford sending it by rail to Winnipeg and then me having it shipped in an enclosed trailer from Winnipeg to me. I did a thorough inspection of mine and the only thing I could find on mine was a tiny tiny paint chip beside the stripe on the front of the car just above the top grille. I'm not sure where it would have happened but by the time the car got to me someone had already touched it up with the correct paint color. I was quite happy that that was all I found as I was having nightmares about all the things that could happen to the wheels before it got to me. The driver from TFX said he took extra care loading and unloading it as he knew that the wheels were carbon fiber. He also had lots of shims available to offload it properly from the ramp without scraping the front splitter.

ive download and blown up the pictures they sent me, which are different from the ones on the dealer site, and i have not found any issues. the car will be transported in an enclosed trailer without question. now that the process is moving along ive told them not to do any dealer prep or clean up to it and so send more picture including all the paperwork.

Are you saying that FRP confirmed that they are not installed on R’s?

I posted about this a while ago and never got a response. The official factory order form specifically states that they are installed at the plant for R’s.

The front camber plates are not installed at the plant. I am not aware of any R owner who received an R with the camber plates installed at the factory. They are shipped to the selling dealer separately and they are supposed to install them ( as part of the PDI ), or not install them if that is your choice. If you do not have the selling dealer install them any other Ford dealer that you may take it to for installation will charge you. Also if you are buying from an out of town dealer ensure they are aware that the plates are shipped separately and make sure they ship them to you with the car or forward them on to you when they get them.

anyone heard of this company? im normally not big in extended warranties, esp 3rd party, but the dealer is offering this for $1000. normally i would say no but for $22,000 worth of wheels and tires it seems worth it if it is legit.

Have not but I bought a similar policy for $650 from my dealer. Made him write on the contract and sign it that if I attempt a claim and the CF wheels are not covered I would get a full refund.

Bill, great to hear that everything went well for your R model especially with TFX from Winnipeg to your home in the GTA.

After taking delivery a number of times for these cars I am convinced that for the most part that the rail portion of the transportation segment is not the issue with respect to damage issues but that the final leg delivery from the rail yard to the dealership is where most of the damage takes place.

In your case you have two trucking companies (In addition to the rail) involved regarding the transportation of your car and very happy to hear that they both did a fine job.

Based on my experiences over the last ~4 1/2 years with these great cars I will be going over my car with a fine tooth comb and hope that my car turns out just as yours did!:like::like:

Best to You and Your Family!

:)

On my early production 2020 350R, the camber plates were dealer installed. On my most recent purchase, they were installed at the factory according to the window sticker. I kept following up with the dealer, however they said the new 350Rs have them installed at the factory. They said check the window sticker, and sure enough, it doesnt say dealer installed accessory.

being they are standard on the 350R they all should have been factory installed. the tech that put mine in nicked the opening in the towers. some touch up paint made them nearly disappear but it still pisses me off.
