I've read somewhere: rear axel bearings may suffer early from running 305mm's.
Will the stock axel bearings wear out sooner than with a smaller wheel set?
I don't race or have a lead foot.
Car is a 2021 GT.

Bearings are a indeed a wear item, so dont expect them to last forever. That said, rears seem very inconsistent. Older model years they failed quite often regardless of the rear tire sizes or mileage.

With newer cars or newer replacement repair part hubs they’re are holding up much better than the 2015 hubs and the hub geometry is basically fine for just about any tire that’s going to fit in the wheel well, so go for it.

Ford has plenty of models with 305 wide rears. I’d be more worried about a skinny tire pushed out to the maximum offset than a properly wide tire stuffed tightly between the shocks and the fenders. With normal camber the center of pressure probably isnt that different.

I’ve done my share of hub replacements and I correspond with some track guys who’ve done a lot and the concensus seems to be the new parts hold up fine, so dont sweat it.

The 32mm axle nuts have been known to loosen, especially if you track, and the driver side more than the passenger. You can follow the 100# torque + 45-degree angle tightening procedure. I've never achieved the angle even using my jack handle as a breaker bar extender, so I just tighten it as hard as I can. Then I add a second axle nut over the first, and tighten to 100#. Paint marks prove I no longer have loose axle nuts.

I bought the Ford Racing rear wheel bearings with the 3'' ARP wheel studs and I believe the torque on those nuts was like 208ftlbs. It was a lot, and I still paint marked them so I can check on it from time to time.

Owned my 2020 since new, 3rd year I finally got 325 width tires, have used them for 3 seasons now and no issues so far.
