I usually don't post to much but do a lot of reading . I have the Paxton beefcake special with 3.6 pulley.car make 654 whp. Love the power never had an issue. In pa i don't have e85 readily available so I use 93 mostly but on special occasions mix a bottle of boostane which I have tune for . I would like to go down to a 3.47 pulley. Why do I see people keep it at a 3.6 pulley and not go any lower is it your passing the engine safety spot? I would like to go to a 3.47 on 93 plus boostane. Anything I should consider before biting the bullet? At the 3.47 pulley I would run 93 octane and boostane all the time. How much whp should I gain?

Thanks in advance

3.6 pulley puts you at what most say is a safe boost level for 93 octane. Most people stick around 10-12lbs of boost for 93 not to say people haven't pushed it & been up to 15lbs but just be ready for the bad that can come along with it. One bad tank of fuel could cause detonation. I'm not sure about octane boosters I know they work by bringing the octane level up to be able to run more timing & or boost but still wouldn't have the same benefits as running e85, most use it when they know there gonna beat the crap out of the car like auto cross or a drag day for a safety net. If your going to have a different tune for octane I would use race gas or e85 & wastegate the car with a smaller pulley. This would allow you to pick up good power all through the rpms & while capping the the boost at a safe level to still be able to run a 93 tune. Most cars that run 93 will see 17 to 19 degrees of timing most cars that run e85 will see 22 to 24.
One more cool thing about adding a wastegate is you can now put a boost controller on it like a turbo car, so not only will you pick up power from adding timing using race gas or e85 but now you can also add boost to go with the better fuel without having to worry as much about detonation. Most people see between 60whp to 100whp switching from 93 to e85 then go from 12lbs to 14-15lbs for another 50-75whp with a boost controller.

Another question as far as the 3.47", Will you see any belt slip with the 6 rib and do you use the stock paxton recommended idler adjustment hole on the bracket?
