For those of you who have gone with wider front tyres, what is your experience?

Is the car now more prone to tramlining? How cornering feel, steering etc?

Im thinking of going 275 up front and 295 rears.

Thanks

They're a common fitment on our Mustangs and you'll have no problem going up to those tyres. 19 or 20's?

I stayed with 19" wheels and the tyres are 275/35 F & 295/35 R. A few on here have gone with the same widths/aspect ratio for their 20" wheels.

The OEM tyres are 40 aspect ratio and I've found the car still rides just as nice with the wider 35 aspect ratio tyres, but doesn't feel as "heavy".

Reason being is the MRR 350 wheels are much lighter than the OEM wheels and this reduction in unsprung weight is more noticeable in the agility of the car than any difference in ride with the wider tyres.

Hope this helps.

I'm runnig 285 35 19 Nitto g2s on sve350 19X10 up front and 305 35 19 g2s on sve350 19 x 11 on the rear . Absolutely love em so much better than the performance package wheel n tires.

You have so much more choice of tyres in the US, makes us envious over here!!

For instance, for the rears, 305/35/19 is a better choice for us than the 295/35/19 but Michelin don't stock it here in Australia.

Here's a semi-related question to this thread, does the rear standard 19x9.5 rims with 275/40 R19 tyres fit on the front of the car?

Any clearance or offset issues with the Brembo brakes?

Asking as I'm thinking about buying a complete set and putting the rears from the set onto the front of my car and keeping an original front rim in the boot as a spare wheel.

I don't believe so. The offset of the wheel does not work - unless spacers are used.

The answer to your question is yes your rear wheels will work up front with a 5mm spacer to clear rubbing your strut. As long as you don't use anymore than 5mm your stock lug stud length will be fine.

Thanks guys... will give it a miss. I don't like the idea of using spacers.
