2022s In Production?

I was surprised to see a Facebook post yesterday of what is apparently a 2022 Mustang. A GT/CS with the PP1, in Atlas Blue. None of that is available in 2021. OP says she is employed at Flat Rock. Could the plant shut down the first week of October (blamed on a water pipe) have turned into the model year changeover? If so, my 9/30 build ends up being one of the last Velocity Blue GTs ever. I am not sure how I feel about that.

2022’s are not in production yet. An employee was given the 22’ GT/CS promo car to drive home.

No, they're not in production yet. The '22s Job 1 is 3rd January 2022.

The car you saw in the FB post is a pre-production model.......and it'll have a '21 VIN or, if not, it'll likely be crushed as it can't be sold to the public.

wtf? they destroy the car? why not just use it as the press car to give out to people and rack up miles lol

I feel better now. I had been told what you said, that the new models would start production in January. But there it is, in the metal. I will say that seeing Atlas Blue in a photo makes me even more pleased that I got my order in for Velocity Blue.

lol same. it just isn’t vibrant like lightning and velocity. then again i was mad when they killed lightning so i wasn’t a velocity fan at the start, but here we are…so i’m sure i’ll get used to atlas, especially bc i’m building a new truck for work that will be atlas lol
