2022 Mustang colors?

I was curious if anyone knows anything about 2022 colors, or for the matter, any real news regarding the 2022 cars.

I've been assuming they will be S550's with minimal changes due to Covid and the expected 2023 S650 release, but I started searching and was surprised to find almost nothing on 2022, especially considering we are already running into Q3 2021. Historically there's been plenty of info out by this point, but I guess it just further highlights how weird this year has been.

Nope......and I keep searching too!

We find out the colors one of two ways. Either via the order guides (a very helpful member of Blue Oval Forums is usually first to post these)......or, as happened last year, an automotive paint specialist revealed the colors early on their website.

New colors are pretty much all we can expect to change for the '22MY. As you state, S650 is due for the '23MY so '22 will be the run out year for S550.


As for timelines, even those are an unknown. Last year was a very long model year with the '20MY running from October 2019 to the end of December 2020 due to Covid. I think Ford were hoping to get the model year back on track, so I would have expected the '22MY to begin production Sept/Oct this year (2021).......but now the chip shortage has thrown another spanner in the works so even that could be pushed back.
