Thanks for the very kind interest. I hope this information is helpful to others.

Ford Motor Company sent me two emails. The first was on 12/09/21 saying my Mustang is scheduled to be built the week of 1/10/22. They also gave me the VIN. The second email was on 1/12/22 saying the Mustang was built and that I could expect delivery NLT 1/17/22. The dealer actually called to say it arrived on 1/14/22. Please note the Mustang was built in Flat Rock, MI which is less than 500 miles from where I live.

In sum, it's a Rapid Red 2022 GT Coupe Premium 6-speed w/performance package. Upgraded interior is leather show-stopper red. The sticker provides all of the option details. I've not driven it much owing to recent snow/salt/crazy drivers.

I do plan to have PPF applied soon to front, hood, mirrors, and rocker panels. My 2016 GT took a paint beating.

I'll attach some photos as requested.

Lastly - I'm an old fart Mustang fan that loves running the gears and spirted driving in a beautiful Pony Car. Suggestions are always welcome.

Stay safe everyone.

That's a fast delivery! My GT22 was ordered on Oct 14, 21 and will be built on Feb 17 based on the latest update from the Ford dealer. Unfortunately it will take at least two months to get it to Europe and to the dealer ... 😝 But just right for the spring time!

I love the dark red color. BTW the white stripe is no option for EU cars.

Went to local dealer (in canada) same time as original poster to order a new ecoboost. Was told April if I'm lucky. Not delivering to canada till spring.
Wound up getting a 1 yr old GT instead .... Not sad about it.

Trust me, I get it!

I realize there are a few cars out there these days that are faster than the GT but for the most part they’re in a much different price range. And the emphasis is on “few”.

I’m a couple years your senior but nothing I know of, I mean nothing, takes me back to the feel, power/torque and sound of the old days like this car. Throw in modern reliability and several times over better handling, braking, etc. than the oldies and for me it’s like a time machine on steroids!

BTW your car is stunning! My ‘20 convertible is Rapid Red also.
We are very much alike. Old memories of sound, power, torque, and clutch-mashing with modern technology and safety. I like your "time machine on steroids" comment. I'm going to use it.

When it came to treating myself to the car, my wife and kids said, "If not now, when Dad?"

LIVE LONG AND PROSPER, MY FRIEND.

Beautiful car! Something for your consideration. I too was going to just PPF the front, then I realized 1/3 of the leading edge of the roof, rear "hips" of the car are all as exposed to front rock chips as the bumper and hood is. I also had (after 3000 miles) rock chips behind the rear door, rear bumper (???) and a few inches under the license plate (???). I ended up PPFing the entire car.

Can you identify anything different under the hood from 2021? I read there is supposed to be a relocated MAF, an added carbon trap, and possibly a revised intake tube.

Really appreciate the PPF suggestion. More specifically, they are going to do doors (9" up from rocker panels) and forward of and behind rear wheel fenders. I'll ask about the roof too.

I wasn't sure if PPF will adhere well enough over the white strips. I'll report any problems. Cheers.

Hmmm... there was a post about that recently here. How to PPF over Mach1 stripes I think it was... something about PPFing over the stripes or not...

For what it is worth - I live in Kansas City, and ordered my GT PREMIUM (Black exterior - no stripe, Show Stopper Red interior, 401A, PP, Automatic, Magneride, Active Valve Performance Exhaust, B&O) on 11/19/2021. My GT was scheduled to be built to be built the week of 1/10, and Ford has communicated that delivery (Rail) to the dealer is expected sometime between 1/28 - 2/3.
