Howdy All,

I assume there’s no illumination around the shifter? If there is then I have a light out. Thanks

The P, R, N, D, S panel to the left of the shifter is illuminated from the factory. Did you buy the car new or used? I ask as I have dark mode enabled using forscan. Dark mode will shut off that and the overhead dome lights.

Thanks for input. I think I may have an issue. I bought this car new (actually ordered it from Ford) back in July. Got the 401A pkg. PP1, safe and smart pkg. Hell I got just about every upgrade they offered. Also had the dealership install a Roush phase 2 pkg. so maybe a wire got kinked somewhere. As far as Dark Mode goes I haven’t seen that yet. Is it in the My Color area of the settings? I can say my dome does come on when I open the doors so I don’t think that’s it. Thanks

Jeff

Plus why would you want those to light up? If you have the digital dash its there.

The illumination at the shifter plate was eliminated by Ford after 2019 and Ford has done it in other models. It’s a cost savings move.
Mine worked until disabled using forscan. Build date of mid Oct 2020

You will need to use Forscan to activate dark mode. It is not a feature in the Ford PCM.

Is it possible they brought it back for MY20 just like the dual horns? I know my 19' doesn't have it but my 15' EB did.

My 16 had it, my 19 does not. Both were/are 401a packages. It’s definitely possible that Ford randomly brought it back.

Ford indeed does some strange things. Even though a 2020, in reality, my Oct build has 2021 electrical components. My dealer verified this as did my tuner. Evidently beginning the 4th qtr, Ford injects the next model years components into the assy process. GM does this too. My late build '16 CTS-V had all kinds of upgrades that were on the '17 MY.

It’s not a problem for me I’ve just never been in an auto that didn’t light up and thought maybe I had a loose wire somewhere, and that would be a concern. Thanks
