But now they have these new helmets with built in comms. You plug into a 2 way radio that has active communication with instructors. My helmet is no longer compatible. I have no more advice to get around that one. Go there and hope that they properly disinfected the gear before you get there.

Being a dry cleaner, I have access to lots of disinfectant. I’ll bring my own. :-D

Tom: I obviously don't know where I picked up the sore throat but as you said, it certainly could have been the helmet. Just glad it wasn't the bug.

KB, thanks for the kind words, much appreciated. However, Tom is right, definitely from Oklahoma, not texas. Accusing someone of that can be dangerous depending on the time of year. Turns out, if you look at a map, Oklahoma is always on top. Just like the SOONERS, our professional football team.

In all seriousness, I am a fourth generation Okie. My family came during the land run. The white cowboy hat is my company’s brand. Our slogan is “the guys in the white hat.”

My daughter is living there in the OKC area and married an Okie...love the area. Hope to visit there more in the future.

The darn thing is, you can only wear them for a few months down here at the Equator. <grin>

I’ve always had better luck finding boots in Tijuana. High quality and cheap.

That made me smile, John but I never had any Tijuana layovers. :-) ELP. LRD, and SAN, yes, but never really wanted to cross the borders without a gang of guys. Got a few pair from the Lucchese reject store in ELP though.
