2019 GT350 under MSRP?

I ended up getting a Ruby Red 2019, pretty much loaded for just under $2k under MSRP.

Just came off the truck, too.

I battled for weeks on what to go with, Kona or Performance. I decided on the Kona. Now all that has to happen is the car to come in, but that is a different thread. They are all nice!

I was able to get my ‘19 under invoice, and there were a few dealers willing to sell under MSRP. I wouldn’t get hung up on the ADM until you talk to the dealer. My experience was that once they figure out you’re a serious buyer and you’ve done your research, the ADM is easily negotiated out.

Just finally looked again and both GT350s are still sitting in inventory. I had offers in that were effectively $1500 under MSRP. They would not budge off of MSRP. 2 Sundays ago, I ended up buying a Bullitt with Electronics package and Magnaride for a true $5k+ under MSRP from an awesome dealer 50 easy miles away. Love it and saved $17k off the GT350. Hmmm... Whipplecharger? ;-)

Historically speaking, a mustang will depreciate much more than the gt350/500 cars. For example, a 2012 5.0 is easily less than 14k now. However, the GT500 is still holding in the mid to high 30’s, depending on miles, maybe lower. I believe a GT500 sold in the 40’s. So they hold their value and have depreciated much more slowly. Whereas a 5.0 is a dime a dozen and depreciated from the 30k range to the 12-15k range.

That’s what I’ve seen in my area, your area may be different, but my point is, 50k for a bullet or decked out 5.0 is a depreciation catastrophe waiting to happen in comparison to a 350. I expect the 350, for slightly more, will depreciate much more slowly and the floor of the car will be much higher.

I agree a specificity numbered Mustang GT500 will be worth more than a Mustang GT 5.0.

I really don't care. This will always be a purchase that will fall in value.

Yes they will both depreciate. It’s the rate of depreciation that I’m talking about. Slower depreciation means it’s worth more when you flip it in a few years.

I always keep a car or truck for eight or more years (one I've had 20+ years) so the annual depreciation is not a problem. Cars and the occasional truck ownership is my only financial weakness, but a guy has to enjoy life.

I have a good friend that spends all of his money on ex-wife's and lawyers. He has lost four houses. He drives an old Honda.
