I’m a long-time Mustang owner and have decided to get a loaded 2019 GT350. I like to 2019 updates, and I have the $$$ to buy one, but I’m concerned about:

1) Isn’t now a bad time to buy one? I’m seeing 16-18 R’s and non R’s sell on BAT and other sites for $50-62K. Even some low mile R’s have recently sold for low $60’s, this gives me pause to go pay $65K for a 2019 GT350 at a dealer?
2) What has been heard about the 2020 GT350? I’d hate to pull trigger at $60-65K on a ‘19 and then they add more goodies in 2020 like the digital cluster, etc.
3) I am seeing MSRP’s of $65-66K for the loaded ‘19’s I’m looking at, as this year progresses do you think I’ll get a “deal” on a ‘19? Any hope at paying under MSRP on one right now?

I would buy a used 18 R with very low miles. Already depreciated and you can even get a better deal if buying from private party with the tax total.

You buy the 19 and it will drop 5k from the MSRP as soon as you drive it out the lot and the tax you paid is gone also.

Thanks. I love the exterior of the R, but I’m kind of a comfort/tech type vs all-out performance. If I could get an R with a back seat and some comforts I’d probably get one. I’ve also considered just buying a 17-19 GT, or maybe even a C6 Z06, and letting the GT350 market cool off a bit more. I bet when the GT500 launches I’ll be able to grab a 19 GT350 for MUCH less than right now, but I could be wrong.

There are no changes to the '20 over the '19, other than colors. You can get good deals on both new and used if you look, and if you can find one on the lot with the color and options you want. Other than that it's just a personal decision. Do you want the 19 updates, are you going to hold on to the car or turn it over in a few years... lots of things to think about. I picked mine up last month for close to invoice and it had the color and options I wanted. It took me awhile to get the car and deal I wanted, but it all worked out. I wouldn't get scared away by ADM, but I wouldn't pay it either, just start negotiating. the dealer I bought from had over 10K ADM on the car, but it went away once we started negotiating. Shop nationwide if you have to; it might cost you 1K to get it delivered, but if you get it at a good price, its better than giving ADM to the dealer.

Thanks for the reply. On a $65,500 MSRP car, how much is invoice roughly? I am looking at fully loaded Kona blue and white stripe, I have found like 3-4 identical cars to what I want. Maybe offer like $62,000? I do plan to keep this car awhile and add it to my small collection of Mustangs, no plans on selling in 3-4 years.

I think its right around 62,500. when I made my offer, it was out the door price with TTL. In the end, I offered 66,400, they came back with 66,800. When you subtract TTL, I paid 62,425

Looks like a good deal. What was MSRP on your car?

I paid 1,795 under invoice for my 2019 GT350, so the deals are out there because it’s a perfect storm for a new one. Also the 2019 has all the updates for the best gt350 to date. 2020 will most likely be the last year, so if your going to get a new one get it now.

So what was MSRP and what you paid, roughly? One of the cars I’m looking at has been at dealer 2-3 months, the salesmen just admitted that to me. MSRP $66,250, is $60K possible?

That’s 2k+ under invoice, but they get holdbacks. They’ll still make money on it, depends on how motivated they are to move it. I don’t know if it’s true, but I read that Manufacturers start charging interest to the dealer on cars on the lot after 90 days. I don’t know if that’s a big enough hit to motivate them.

No changes on the base 350 for 2020. As some have said, expect 2020 to be the last year but, we said that for 19 as well. 2020 availability could be limited as well so, keep that in mind. The 19 Base is the best base 350 to date and you would not be disappointed. The R is just as comfortable as the base unless you want a back seat or the heated cooled base seat

Thanks! Are people hoping the 2019 engine updates will lessen the oil consumption issues that plagued some of the 16-17 cars?

BUT didn't you say in another thread that your mom, dad, brother, etc etc works for Ford? If so then how applicable is your deal to the average buyer?
