I can think of worse ways to spend money and have a "Mid-Life Crisis." The only dealership that I have seen, talked with and dealt with that is in the same "ballpark" as Akins is Koons Ford, in Sterling, VA. Their document fee is a "whopping" $699.00! But they make good deals. As I am currently trying to decide if I want a nicely optioned 2019 Base automatic EB with the PP or a 2019 Base GT with the automatic, I had Koons build and price both out for me,

19 Base EB: Ingot Silver, automatic, PP, 101A Interior Package, 19" Luster PP wheels, active exhaust, enhanced security package and spoiler delete. $ 33,700 Out-The-Door and On-The-Road...everything included.

19 Base GT: Velocity Blue, automatic, 301A Interior Package, enhanced security package, 3.55 gears and spoiler delete. $38,450 Out-The-Door and On-The-Road...everything included.

Now I just have to decide which car suits my driving desires and needs better...it is a tough decision. The EB provides so much "Bang-For-The-Buck and allows for some great options. The GT is also great....power on demand, GLORIOUS EXHAUST NOTE! and a great cruiser. I am just not sure if the extra $4750 initial purchase price and increased insurance costs of the GT is truly worth it...as the opportunities to daily use the plethora of HP/torque of the 5.0 in daily driving is really limited...well, unless of course, one wants a hefty ticket or a stay in the "Crossbar Hotel" for the evening. Utilizing the lower HP/torque of the EB seems more plausible in most everyday situations, without quickly reaching triple digits speeds that will result in tickets or a stay in the "Crossbar Hotel" for reckless driving.

I’ve heard of Koons, not sure from where though.

That’s a tough one, but I’d have to go with the GT. The exhaust note is worth the gas and insurance cost it IMO. However I don’t know what it’s like to daily one of these. The answer to that may sway me to the EB.

BTW Akins has an 18 base 10 speed in magnetic for $30,300 ish. Not sure that helps but had to mention it.

Good luck either way.

Thank you...I appreciate your well wishes. I just looked at the magnetic 18 base at Akins tonight, as a matter of fact! I just with it had the 301A Interior Package. The base 300A Package's center cluster looks as if it belongs in a 1990's Chevrolet Chevette....and not a 2018 Mustang GT! I just can't get over how horrible it looks...and is! The "Calculator Push Button" set-up is pathetic for a car in 2018, which cost nearly 40K! That being said, for $30,300...I "might? be able to get over it...

I just replaced that same 80’s calculator nonsense in my car. (17)

Terrible isn’t strong enough to describe it.

Sync upgrade is a must. Outside of that and nicer wheels, does it make sense to go that way or order what you want ? Are you saving enough?

Hard questions no doubt.

Excellent points! And good for you for being able to replace the "80's Calculator Nonsense"...I really don't know why Ford is still installing that garbage center stack in the Mustang...or any car for that matter.

And I am electing to order, because I can't find what I want in a dealer's inventory. I was surprised that most dealers aren't ordering base EB's with the PP...most are premium's. And I haven't found a base 19 GT with the 301A package and 3.55 gears (my two "Must Have's" for the GT) within 1000 miles of me. The nearest one was in Houston. If I am going to purchase a new 'Stang, it is going to be build and equipped as I want it, since I am paying for it AND most likely going to wait 4 months for it...which is fine with me, it is winter time anyway. If I receive it by March, I will be happy.
