What transmission is the Bullitt using? I have to say, one of the BEST things about the GT-350 is the shifting/transmission/shifter.

I've heard from a few 18 owners that the clutch and shifter are easier and smoother to use now, so the Bullitt will benefit from those 2018 changes as well. I haven't driven one yet but I'm excited to try it. The clutch engagement is the only thing I don't love about my 2016 sometimes. Not very precise or easy to use compared to other modern manual clutches. I have no complaints with the shifter itself.

I've used the MGW unit in the past, but the shifter wasn't the problem with my '13 Boss. Wide open throttle, on the back straight of COTA, the transmission was so torqued that it wouldn't shift. Going into 5th required a big pause, as a result I only got to 152 MPH back there. Probably the bushings of the transmission mount were the issue. Of course the MT82 has - and I believe still has - all sorts of other problems one of which is cooling. It only has 1/3rd the fluid capacity of the BW 6-speed transmission used in the old GT500, for example. The little scoop that Ford offered was laughable. And of course the brakes were so poor on the Boss that 152 was probably the limit for that turn anyway... and the POS solid axle hopped and skipped and brake-dived, etc etc. The '15s suspension improved all of that... and was better yet if properly equipped with coolers.

Have you tried the Steeds clutch assist spring? A small and inexpensive mod that made mine a bit more bearable.

I tried the spring removal on my EcoBoost and I don't think it helped much and only made the clutch heavier. I'm guessing the Steeda spring would have helped with the weight but the feel still wasn't great to me.

I'm not sure if this was already posted but the car at the Toronto Motor Show in Canada was VP008. It had Recaros.

Test drove a 2018 GT manual a couple nights ago and the clutch peddle was almost too soft, not much resistance, it took a while to get used to, and half as much effort as I'm used to, the shifter worked very nicely.

Sounds similar to the 6th gen Camaro clutch. A little weird at first for sure.

So the 2018 3.73 1st gear goes to 50mph instead of the previous 3.73 cars 42mph? Is that because of higher redline alone or are the actual trans gears taller?

Gearing is taller in the 2018s. Both 5th and 6th are overdrive gears now. This is the reason some people are complaining that the manual 2018s without the performance pack actually feels a little slower off the line than the 15s-17s because they only have the 3.55s instead of 3.73s.

GT350 I drove like that. It had almost 0 weight at all, I could barely tell when the clutch was in or out.

There is a video from CJ pony parts that says the steeda spring significantly improves the clutch feel on the 18's. I'm gonna drive around stock for a little and see how I feel but I assume one of the first things I would do to the car is throw in the spring and maybe the MGW shifter if needed.

    From the above article...

The Getrag supplied MT-82, D4 or otherwise, has nothing to do with any Tremec supplied TR6060 transmission, last used by Ford on the '14 GT500.

I just got the most recent issue of Motor Trend. There was a short article about the Bullitt. It sounds like there will be a PP2 option for the Bullitt.

I doubt that as it would add a spoiler and different wheels.

I really wish the Bullitt grille still had the "Fangs" incorporated in the upper grille... I hate to say it, but that specific grille from that angle give me a *shutters* "fusion" vibe

Nice! Someone in another thread mentioned seeing a Bullitt on his way to work in San Francisco, must have been this. So excited to see the results of this photoshoot.
