Hello,
I am gathering all the components and tools to install a set of long tube headers on my 2019 GT (whenever they finally ship and work slows down).
I know the headers I ordered come with O2 extensions, but I figured since I’m in there I may replace the oxygen sensors with new ones. It’s my understanding certain F150 O2 sensors are basically direct replacements for the upstream sensors and don’t require extensions. I have searched extensively on the forum and have not found what I find it be a definitive answer to which F150 sensors to use for 2018+ cars.
From my searching I have found two different upstream O2 sensors for gen 3 F150s: NTK 27079 (B1S1) and 27080 (B2S1). I’m also not opposed to using a different brand, I just found the NTKs in stock locally.
Will either one of those sensors work in the upstream position on 2018+ Mustang GTs? I’d like to use the 27080 since the wiring looks about 5” longer than the 27079, but I’ve not found a definitive answer.
Thanks,
Mitch
