so ive been tossing the idea around of jumping on the 2018 wagon, and trading in my 2015 for a 2018, but man am i disappointed. me personally i would have loved a 2018 base 5.0 with cloth recaros, 10 speed, performance pack, active exhaust, and most importantly the digital dash. seems that you cannot get recaros on a base car and you cannot get the digital dash on a base car either. on the premium its not even a stand alone option. whats the deal with ford? mustang has always been about being able to customize your car the way you want from the factory. guess ill just wait till 2019 rant over

Keep your 15. Digital dash not worth the upgrade. Cloth recaros, not worth the upgrade. Active exhaust, buy an exhaust that sounds great all the time without a switch.

10 speed, ok and I understand your gripe but yeah probably wait till 2019 and enjoy your car.

I agree keep your 15. Get the Roush active exhaust. Only reason I'm getting a 2018 is because I have a V6 2013 Premium convertible. And I like all the goodies that come on the 18. I was actually looking at getting a CS 2017 but I kept going back to the 18s. So I decided to get what I want. I will baby this car though! :)

Ford hasn't always been about individual customizations. For years they've made you choose most things by the package they're in. For instance BLIS was only available in the 301a/401a package.

danny0441,get whatever car makes you happy. He has already said what he wants and I doubt your opinion on upgrades makes a difference.

Yeah the way the options are set up sucks. Sounds similar to what I would option but then it comes out to about 50k.

The only 2 options i required were v8 manual, i would love leather but i refuse to pay 4k for leather and get all those extra headaches package options. Todays base car is like yester years fully loaded. Windows locks cruise etc...

Making everything an individual option is pretty expensive for the factory, since you get millions of variations of the car pretty quick. Also it ruins the comparability between cars on the lots because you have to check every option.

I never understood why I can choose every single thing on german cars here. Buying a used car is a mess. If I just choose a new Golf and don't look at engines, paint colors or wheels you have about 90 (!!!) different Options to choose from and some are dependent on or excluding each other. Even if you break it down to 50 different combined options that's over 1 quadrillion possibilities (2 ^ 50) of added features. Good luck finding the build you want...
I love the way american car makers go, just choose which of the few packages you want and you got pretty good chance a similiar build could be at a dealer around town.

I remember Ford said something like "customers can pick whatever color they like as long as it's black" for their model T.

Yep, blis, memory seats, and the upgraded stereo. Which bigles my mind. I would pay the $700 more for the blis and memory seats but with the stereo it was 1750. Another $1k for an upgrade to a subpar sound system.

Yep I think the funniest one was with the 2017 you couldn't get memory power seats and HD Radio unless you also paid for the Shaker and BLIS systems. :headbonk:

Ford should reduce the number of option combinations to save costs.

OOC, what made you decide to move to a coupe and not do a convertible again? I'm currently debating on a GT convertible.

the worst one was Auto wipes on the ACC package, good job I wanted ACC :)
but a bit daft to put the auto wipers with it
