What days did you guys order your R? I ordered 6/1 last year and I am still at UMH. Dealer is telling me it is going to get done, but I'm really starting to doubt it.

thanks. @tdzee @Tomster @rever5e
I ordered mine 4/12/16, and it went into production around 2/22/17. It is currently in transit to a dealer near dallas, for what it is worth. Perhaps yours will be up for manufacture soon.

A member on this board I have met received his "2016 R" almost a year after ordering it. I think unless you're a VIP or Ford connected it will take between 9 months to a year.

Ordered mine in early April. Was recently told it might slip into MY18, but a slot opened up (now est at 10 months order to deliv). Having gone thru this with an identical MY16R (9 months order to delivery) , I am never surprised at how chaotic and uninformed the process is.

Good luck with yours.

In a way this is true. I had to have my dealer and their rep do so serious negotiating to get mine pulled.
I ordered it 5/10/16 and it delivered 11/1/16. Was able to put 400 miles on it before winter. Took it out for a spin a couple days ago. Ford certainly takes their time getting them made. I'm surprised ford doesn't just set a few weeks of production strictly for their gt350 builds, this way there isn't any confusion during the assembly process. I'm sure there are reasons not to do it that way but let's get these cars made and shipped.

I'll give them a call. I did get rep confirmation, its now just a matter of them picking my order for build.

I am thrilled to hear that some of you are getting your 2017 GT350R Mustangs . Maybe Ford is ramping up production now that Spring is almost here.

This is discouraging. I placed an order for a 17 R 2 weeks ago. The dealer (largest in the bay area) said they could "rush" mine in. Ford is buying back my 17 GT350 so they think this might give me some pull so to speak. They might be blowing smoke. We will see.

Ha! If you want immediate gratification, I'd suggest buying one that is built and for sale. Otherwise it is a waiting game. As for the dealer who is going to rush it through..... I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.

Only the reps decide which order is pulled and when. A dealer can direct which order is fulfilled first if there are multiple R allocations from the same dealership. Otherwise, enjoy the wait.

Its kind of late in the game to get a 17 R allocation. Are you sure it is a true allocation and not a sale in hopes of a lottery allocation?

I'd get confirmation on that one.

How do I get "confirmation"? We placed the order together on the computer. What should I ask for?

That's the issue. The dealer generally will not give you access to the rep. They expect you to take their word for it. Many have been burned. enzo101 had a similar situation. They took his order and after many here pressed him to get confirmation from the rep, it wound up being a bust.

So its on you to do your due diligence. It would not be out of order to insist from the GM of your dealership for an email confirmation from the regional rep that the order is allocated. Otherwise, your time could be wasted waiting for something that may not ever be built.

Best of luck man
