2017 PCV issue

So I know all about the issue with the PCV and how you should definitely get a catch can on these cars. However, everything I seem to read about it says 2015 to 2016 so I know all about the issue with the PCV and how you should definitely get a catch can on these cars. However, everything I seem to read about it says 2015 to 2016 (ecoboost) and I can't seem to find anything that mentions the 2017 model. Can anyone confirm if this is still an issue or if Ford has fixed it?

Also I know a regular catch can is fine to just install, but I have seen some mentions of if you get a dual baffle catch can (3 hose ones) it could throw check engine lights without a tune. Will this be something I need to worry about as well? I don't plan on doing any big power nights in the near future is why I ask

The 2015-2016 had a previous revision of the PCV that would cause the car to occasionally smoke at idle, to the point where you could smog out part of an intersection. I believe it was fixed sometime during the 2016 model year as I had mine replaced with the revision last year.
It is still a good idea to install a catch can as I think all the newer PCV did was relieve positive crankcase pressure. There is still oil mist going into the intake manifold which means there is a potential for it to cake on the back of the intake valves potentially requiring manual cleaning.

That's what I was thinking but just wanted to confirm since it's a new platform for me. The other question is which Catch can would be better? UPR normal or the dual valve? The only major difference I see is having to drill into a factory tube and the descriptions don't seem very clear on what extra is done as well as the point of the check valve

I bought my UPR dual valve catch back in february or march and didn't have to do any drilling. The instructions said I had to but the kit came with a silicone coupling that goes between the intake tube and the turbo that has a connection for the catch cans intake hose. I think UPR used to not include the silicone coupling and that meant you had to drill into the intake tube. Also the instructions are kind of outdated because I received the instructions telling me to drill and no mention of the coupling.
