I had a 2013 fusion 1.6 EB with stick. Loved the shifter and clutch. The throws were a little long but man was it smooth. Very comfortable seats and ride. The only thing I wanted more of was power. I hope for an ST, so there will be a stick shift offered again. But I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe it's me but I like the current Fusion better. Quad exhaust tips on the Fusion Sport? Really...?

Quad tips with ~330-350 hp? Ok, I'll bite.

Well the the 2.7-liter v6 EcoBoost makes 325 hp and 375 lb-ft of torque in the f150. So it's in that ballpark. But if they use that engine they may drop it a bit. Maybe 300 hp to keep it under the Mustang EB. If they figure they should from a marketing standpoint. But does it matter? Since it's only a tune away from being Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde.

If they use the 2.3 EB engine then they could market it at 270hp with 87 octane. Still above the 2.0 EB. And those that want can put in 93 octane to boost the hp.

So many paths Ford could go with this. Can't wait to see officially. Hoping for the 2.7 thou.

The 2.7 in a car would be tuned similar to how it is in the new Edge, which is 315 hp, 375 ft-lbs.

I like the current Fusion better too. But I'll take a Chevy Impala or SS over either.

Not me, at least not with the Impala. I had a new one for a week or so after my fusion was side swiped. It was designed for old people, the interior controls/ buttons were sparse and the ones that were there were huge. The only thing I liked was the v6, made the car seem quick. I was happy to be back in my fusion was it was repaired.
I never drove a chevy SS but I would assume I'd prefer it since it costs quite a bit more and has a v8 with RWD.

However, I would take your car over all mentioned!

Just saw a current one. The grill looks MUCH better on the 17!

Looking at the 17 I wish I would have waited a few months on purchasing some for our fleet. Just ordered 10 - 2016's. We have used the Fusion for driver education cars since the year they came out and everyone loves them. I tried out a couple of Impalas last year and they did not get rave reviews with driver education teachers.

Fusion GT with the Coyote ...

*drops mic*
If they brought the Falcon to the US with a Coyote, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Too bad it's discontinued. Although probably more than I would spend.

I wouldn't mind having the new Chevy SS sedan but not paying $50k for it. My G8 GT was $28k new and a GXP was about $35k, no way it's $15k better.

Couldn't agree more!

Now if I could just win that powerball and get any car I ever wanted...:D

The real question I have is when are these going to be hitting streets? I love the talk about a Sport version but these have to be out around the same time as the 2016 for me to even look at them.

Goddam, that's a steal. A buddy of mine was going to get one when the fire sales started with the demise of Pontiac, but he couldn't even get one before they disappeared. He's a big fan of 4-door, RWD, V8 sedans (aren't we all :))

I know, I was excited about the SS Sedan, seemed like the right equation, but too much money - they need to be $35K base, $39K loaded MSRP, plus the typical Chevy discounted in the $3K-5K area.
