Hello,

New to forum, sorry if this isn't the right place to post it. I bought a new automatic 2016 v6 mustang with the 51a package 3 weeks ago and on Saturday it broke down and I had to tow it 113 miles to my destination (only 850 miles on the car). The issue was that I went to start it up but it wouldn't move, I could switch gears but it would only creep along at walking pace and at very high rpms. Dealer finally looked at it today and said there were no computer codes, and they need to try replacing a transmission module, a part that they don't currently have on hand. Has anyone had this issue? I digged around and couldn't find anything. Also the dealers and customer service have been rather shit through this whole experience.

It would move but at no more than 5mph, as if it wasn't getting any juice. I also heard a hissing sound coming from the engine after it had been running for awhile almost like an air mattress with a hole in it.

yes, it's an automatic.

Sounds like the transmission is toast.

UPDATE: I'm not a mechanic, but my understanding is that they ended up replacing the valve body assembly and installed new seals, mechanic didn't see any stuck valves so assumed there was mechanically something wrong with a solenoid.

I'm hoping this is just one quirk that doesn't lead to other problems. Has anyone ever bought a new car, had an immediate issue, and then the car was fine from then on?

Also, does anyone have a link to a good guide on paddle shifting properly?
