Hello everyone,
I have a 2018 Mustang GT 10R80. I repurchased the car in October and I started having issue with my transmission leaking and overheating within 2 weeks of ownership.
I took he car to the dealer and they did a valve body rebuild, I got the car back and they gave a 1k miles breaking period for the valve body. The car has bees good so far, no leaking and when it's too cold it feel clunky from 3th to 5th gear. I found that, that behavior was normal for most 10R80s but I've been having another issue. When the temperature gets up to normal operating temp (199F to 210F) 8th gears hesitates to engage/slipps. It kind of feel like if you're driving a manual car cue you leave the clutch in and accelerate. So basically the car revs up without engaging the gear and then it engages. I've notices it happens everytime it get up to that temperature. ALWAYS happens. I don't know what us going on. What should I do? has someone had this same issue? Help please I at least want to take it to ford with some information so they actually do something about it.

Take it to the Dealer. Depending on how long ago you had the valve body replaced, there has been a new Ford TSB that has a revised software update.

When you do go to the Dealer, ask the Service Writer to go for a test drive with you, or a Tech or a Shop Foreman. You drive and go for a decent drive to get the car up to speed to demo the issue. Then let the Tech drive it back so they too can experience the issue.

If you drop it off and just tell them, they may not experience the same issue, if at all. That is why it’s always best to request a test drive with them before leaving it.
