I didnt realize that the VIN number didnt come in really quick until after i had already ordered. :( Hopefully it doesnt hurt my credit score if i have to reapply. Ive seen where some people get their VIN number after a couple of weeks though.

My advice is to wait until the car actually leaves the factory and gets on a train before applying for a loan. I had to apply twice because I applied too early also. It didn't hurt my score much but the rate was slightly higher when I applied the second time, ymmv.

Another option to consider....

It is certainly a thrill to order a brand new car, and get it exactly the way you want it. I just wanted to call out a few things. I made the decision to get a 2016 GT PP when I saw the nickel wheels were available. I considered ordering, but was too impatient knowing It would arrive in just time for Midwest winter snow. I found the exact car I would have ordered using the dealer locator tool. It was a bit of work because the car appeared to be the only one in the country at the time, and was in Maryland (I am in Ohio). My local dealer tried to trade for it, but they would not let it go. By using the dealer locator tool and then googleing the VIN, you can find the actual dealer that has (or will have) the car. The dealer locator makes it look like they are all available form your "home dealer". After verifying all of the bundled incentives, x plan, etc. I did the deal for the car two days after it hit their lot. I was going to fly to pick it up, but ended up driving a trade-in there.


Advantages:

• You have the greatest negotiating leverage with a car that is physically sitting in front of you, and you can always threaten to, or actually walk away
• No waiting, delays, inaccurate information, I feel your pain by reading these posts
• There are lots of cars out there, I would be shocked if you couldn't find exactly what you want or pretty darn close.
• You can inspect the car thoroughly and not be disappointed by transport damage or a nick, etc. for a car that you were already committed to.
• No bait and switch when they know they have you (rebates expired or not applicable, not honor x-plan, extra dealer add on fees, etc.)
• Opportunity to play one dealer against another, they hate to loose out to the other guy
• Awesome road trip back home in a gleaming new car

Contrats to YOU! And welcome to the forum. Man, if it don't get delivered soon... you're gonna run outta room, or run outta money! If it's a manual, if you haven't already, look into an MGW shifter. And don't forget the mustang6g discount code! By far, the best of the "goodies" that I've bought.

Some of the approved vendors here give discount codes for members. MGW is one of them. You can check the vendor threads for discount codes, deals, and new products. Also, if you know exactly what you want, PM the vendor for a price. I got a ridiculous deal on a JLT & SCT4 from American Muscle and the same for an MBRP cat-back from Beefcake. Black Friday didn't help the pocketbook either!

I see your location is listed as "Georgia". You stationed at Ft. Benning? Or is you a 'mariner from King's Bay? Or just a "good ole boy" from Georgia?
