Thanks. I PM'd the Ford rep on this site. I hope they can give me some information.
Welcome and thanks for the PM, 1crazymach! I’ll get back to you within the next 2 business days.

Info I have found on here and other sites say that COTUS isn't working for 2016 yet. Hopefully they will get that figured out sooner then later. If you haven't already done so message Deysha (Fordservice on here) and she can help. She may not respond right away but she should as soon as she is an update. I've heard nothing but praise for Deysha.

Edit to add: looks like I posted this as you were also posting. Good luck with your order. I can't wait for my 2016 GT/CS
Thanks for the support, ValkyriePilot!

Deysha emailed me a few days back that the new date to the dealer is 28th NOV. The original date given to me by the dealer was 9th NOV. FMC is really testing my patience...

A friend of mine ordered a BMW and it was delivered in 40 days, from Germany. Plus they had a functional website where he could track progress.

I guess you should have ordered a BMW.

You ordered a Mustang. I'm sure the Mustang was less than the average BMW. Maybe if BMW didn't have the website and push stuff through they wouldn't be so expensive.

You want that other stuff for Ford? Don't bitch when a Mustang Gt is 40k for a base model.

How is it unreasonable to expect in 2015 to be able to track a car that you ordered?

I know they are building a lot of cars but it is not like he was asking for personal delivery.

Comparing apples to oranges. However... half way home from the dealer this will all seem like a bad dream. You'll be like the Joker from Batman - grinnin' from ear to ear.

That is all...

Tracking is not unreasonable. Comparing the process to that of BMW is.

True. Imo it really should not take that long to get our cars if ordered cars were given priority over dealer stock. These cars are already spoken for so why would Ford not want to build them and get them out of the way? I am sure there is more involved then what I am saying but still. Also holding these cars in "Area 51" doesn't help the waiting process.

There have been issues with vendor parts. Two that I'm aware of are seat belt problems and emissions on the 5.ohs. Not sticking up for FoMoCo, as they ALWAYS seem to blame vendor's parts. The question is: Would you rather have a new car that is to spec and everything is fine... or something you'll have to take to the dealer and get "fixed". And it always seems to be at their convenience rather than yours.

Mine sat in Area 51 for 11 days. I've got 2600 on the clock now and all is perfect... except the sh!tty shifter. But I knew that before I ordered the car. The shifter's gotta go. My total time from order to delivery was 3 months and 18 days. And so far, it's been worth the wait.

I would rather acar where e erything is fine no question.

Are the vendors not having enough inventory or is it a safety issue?

To my knowledge (correct me if I am wrong) Audi, BMW etc do not seem to have these issues on thier 35-45k cars (GT premium prices)

Just curious.

The seat belt issue is a safety issue. Latches won't stay latched. Don't know if Ford buys them from the wonderful Takata air bag recall people or not. Takata is a LARGE seat belt manufacturer for a number of car companies including BMW. Quite a few BMW's on the recall list. Also my 2011 and your 2012. A WAG is that the emissions issue is a quality issue with vendor parts.

I'm not going to correct you on anything, but suggest if it is really bothering you... cancel your order and buy a BMW or Audi or some other manufacturer. You don't want to end up with buyer's remorse and have to resort to the rationalization of: "it seemed like a good idea at the time." Been there, done that... too many times.

That is all...
