When I ordered, they didn't tell me stock or retail, I didn't ask either. He said he gave me priority code 10, which is on the Dora. I didn't know what that meant either!
They never told me that retail builds weren't starting until Sept. One plus is if I do wait until spring, I now know about X plan, although my price wasn't much higher.

Priorty 10-19 means retail order. So yeah you're looking at sometimes in October like the rest of us retail orders. For NY that gives you about 1-2 months of solid driving conditions before winter takes over.

Would you guys feel comfortable having a dealer swap? They tried to assure me that the driver is retired and responsible, but I picture a teenager doing burnouts with his friends! Or am I being paranoid? Not sure if the other dealer will swap, but when mine calls I'll need to have an answer.

It's your call man. You will get different answers to that question. Me personally, I would wait for the car you ordered. I'm not sure how it exactly works, but, if the car shows up all pitted up with any damage, I wouldn't take delivery of it.
I know the waiting sucks, I'm in the same boat as you. I live in Massachusetts and figure that when I finally get my car I'll have 1.5 to 2 months of decent weather to learn about and enjoy my car. Some people ordered in May and won't get their cars until mid-late Sept., so I'm not complaining....much.

My car was a dealer trade from about 250 miles away. I paid to have the car shipped instead of driven. The cost for the shipping was $500. It was transported by a retired guy with a trailer who does dealer trades for my dealer.

The sales manager originally said she had "never transported a dealer trade in over 20 years". I told her it was not negotiable. I knew which dealer had the car i wanted, and I was willing to drive the 250 miles to buy the car directly from them.

I've worked for a number of car dealerships in the past. Many of them indeed use retired drivers for dealer trades. Others will send any available porter. I did dealer trades all the time when I was 18. I regret to admit that I didn't always show the cars the respect I should have.

If you're not comfortable with someone else driving the car, ask them about having it transported. If the car is relatively local, you're probably better off letting them handle it.

Good luck.

Funny this topic came up today. Attended a Mustang show today and a local dealer had some cars there. They had one car that has all the equipment the 2016 I had ordered on it. I decided to pass and wait for the one I ordered. Patiently waiting since May.

Good luck in your decision:ford::cheers:

I think I'll wait. Just don't trust the driver, also I plan on doing a in depth inspection. I went to a dealer yesterday to check out a 16 they had on the lot (didn't have the options I wanted and I didn't like the color) the trunk lid was off by about 1/2 inch, and a 3 inch scratch on the passenger side quarter panel. Really hoping mine (and all of yours) are perfect.

My retail order was placed on 6/12. Received a PM Deysha today with my VIN # :ford: . Like others "No build date assigned or ETA yet, but it should in the next week or so" very cool.
Deysha has been and continues to be a great help :first::first::hail:.
I got the same PM. What a wonderful thing to wake up to. Deysha is AMAZING! :first:
I placed my retail order on 6/25. The suspense is killing me!
I shall pray to The Deysha... :hail:
Thank you for the kind words, guys!!

I'll ask here since I'm sure others have the same question:
Deysha, do you know when the '16's will show up in COTUS?
As I’ve mentioned before, COTUS still in a pilot phase and has not been rolled out for all regions or vehicle nameplates, WeinerDog. There’s no telling when or if they’ll show up at this time.

Stand was delivered Thursday....brought her back to the dealership to get detailed.....it's amazing. More pics after its done getting detailed
I've seen no panel aliment issues, only issues I ran into is that there is a rattle in my passenger side door when speakers are turned up. I know there is always vibration when speakers are turned up but I didn't get the speaker system upgrade and not plan to use it. Going to the dealership Monday to resolve the issue. Also the plastic parts on the door seem to scratch fairly easy, I got a small mark on mine from my shoe that bothered me for a bit but got over it.
Gorgeous!! Congrats, juareze16!! I’m happy to get this escalated if you’d like. PM me with your dealer, full name, mileage, and best daytime number.

After lurking here for months and agonizing over the decision I finally put down the deposit on the '16 GT (x-plan through Galpin).

Let the waiting begin ...
Congratulations on your order, snarkipus! Be sure to PM me with your dealer’s name and order number so I can track it.

If there was a strike on ford plants, I wish my car happened right after... I assume people are happy to be back to work in better terms than before
I had sent PM's to Deysha so I did not bug her with another one. I just assumed that she had a list of people so when the VINs came in, she was just going to email everyone with a VIN. That is why I assumed I had non.
I will be checking with Deysha and my dealer (alternating) so that I dont bother someone too much LOL. Thankfully my dealer gave me a paper that says Ford Confidential :ninja: :gossip: where it shows my VIN, order status and scheduled date.

I am aware it is all subject to change if the wind changes course or the chicken puts an egg.
You’re no bother, Verdomix. I handle many other forums, so I recommend you PM me when seeking updates.

Sent a PM to Deysha early Friday morning, hope to hear back on Monday. I was a little late in ordering (7/7), so I'm not expecting a build date. Would like to have a VIN# to get a little excited though...
You have one, angermgmt14! I’ll get back to your PM as soon as possible.

Deysha

Deysha's pretty busy, but she will get back to you.

I've PM'ed her about 6 times, and she always responds, even when I'm being cranky.

Deysha, thanks again for your efforts to ease my troubled mind :headbonk:
I'd have lost what little sanity I have left without your timely info.

Talked to my dealer on Friday. Mine's on a train, left Indiana on Friday. Dealership expects that it will be ready in about a week.

I've kept my PMs to Deysha at no more than one a week and she's great at getting back to me, but as we get into September I may break that rule.
So ready for new car. Cleaned all the crap out of the '01 this weekend.
