2016 GT w/ PP...under $29k by summer?

Even though they lied to me about Ford requiring them to do the tax/tags, I've been using Koons as the dealer I monitor pricing on.

Last month the Magnetic GT w/ PP was $29.3k. Then on 2/1, they raised the price to $30.3k. Now, they don't have a Magnetic, but the Ingot Silver GT w/ PP is down to $29,176. Still have no clue how pricing works on these cars since the used 2015's don't depreciate, the new 16's are cheaper than the used 15's, then toss in the roller coaster pricing from last month until now.

Maybe those who own 15's (specifically the Base GT's w/ PP) can chime in but did they dip below $29k around summertime or at any point last year or is $29.2k for a GT w/ PP a low point in pricing since the S550's came out?

Second question...once the 17's come out, can the 16's still be ordered?

I'm thinking if so, I'll wait until the 17's come out, hopefully the price on the 16's bottom out, and then I can order one new from Ford (since I'm doubting there will be any Magnetic GT's w/ PP locally)

wait till 2017 and buy a pre owned used 2016. My car had msrp of 41k and after 7 months 10,000 miles kbb retail value was at 29,800. It is a joke how bad the mustang line up (not including the shelby) loose value.

That's what I initially thought but I've seen ZERO evidence of it. Show me any of the major car classified sites that show these cheaper S550's compared to what they can be had for new.

Initially I was going to get a 2015 GT w/ PP with under 10k on it. But the new ones are actually cheaper!!

Again, I'd love to see proof of what you are saying.

I got a gt premium pp for 33.5 new locally so 29 sounds good for base. I'd just try to find a good deal locally. Saving 500 bucks or so, I'd rather have enjoyed the car for a few months personally.

Same. After searching for CPO/new '15's, I decided on a 16 because I didn't see that big of a difference in price.

Wait, I can get Koons to not put the tax on there and I can pay it at my DMV (I'm out of state). I don't like to finance the tax. I guess that's what a DP is for, haha...

See Koons flat out lied to me when they quoted me on it. I told them, since I'm out of state, I'll just pay the tax and register the car...when I get back to my state.

The bastard wrote me back and said Ford requires them to do that at the dealership...which the Ford Rep on this forum, Deysha, confirmed is not true. She said they are all independently owned and operated...so Ford doesn't make them do shit!

If you can get a GT with the Performance Package for under 30k that is a seriously good deal. If you are seeing used 15s going for more it is because they are Premiums with a lot of extra options.

The middle of the winter is the best time to buy a Mustang, once the weather warms up the prices will rise because the demand will rise.

The prices on 16s will go down when the 17s start showing up on the dealer lots.

They will stop taking new orders for 16s before they start accepting orders for 17s

Honestly, I think this is what Koons does to get so much business. They put up this insanely low WOW! Price that is at least $1k below every other dealer. Then they add in a few fees to make up the difference.

Like I said, my local dealer was only a $700-ish difference out the door from Koons. Definitely significant. But when you see Koons advertise something for $29k and everyone else is $30k-$31k...Koons is still throwing in plenty of profit on their end of the deal.

See what would be the best deal for me is if I could go the traditional route and register/do taxes once I got back to PA. Because I'm pretty sure if I go through AAA, the registration is free (or maybe just transfer is free for a used private deal?). I have to double check that.

Sounds like, when the 17's come out, what's left on the lot is what's available as far as buying the 16's.

An idea I had was talking to my dealer, and get him to order a Magnetic GT with PP. If someone buys it, fine, order another one. That way, in June when I'll financially be in a spot to pull the trigger, it's just a matter of beating the lowest OTD price I've found, signing the paperwork, and driving off. Otherwise I'm going to be on a wild goose chase up and down the east coast because there aren't any of the combination I want for sale anywhere. Hell, even Koons sells out of them week to week!

As for your comment on the pricing reflecting the GT's with options...nosir. They are plain jane base GT's. No additional bells or whistles. When you get below new GT at dealer pricing...you look at the engine and it's no longer a GT.

Whether they lied to you or not is one thing, but who cares? You're going to pay the same tax either way, if Koons does it you save yourself a trip to the DMV.

It's not a matter of the DMV because, at least in PA, you don't register your car there anyway. But it would let me find a significantly cheaper notary around here which is what we would normally do anyway.
