It will be interesting to see what changes, if any, are made to the V6 block/crank for the upcoming 3.5 Ecoboost Raptor (450-500 hp) and Ford GT (600 hp).

you know, one thing I miss about the Subaru community, everybody seemed to appreciate everybody elses ride. we all gave each other the peace sign as we passed by. it was like being part of a exclusive club. now, ive always been a ford guy, and ive always loved mustangs. this is my 5th one. mustang guys seem to want to show each other up or throw revs when they pass by, attempting to show their superiority over the other mustang guy. I wish we could all just stick together and enjoy each other's rides. I know a few people with EB's and they love them just as much as I love my car. I might not like how they sound but they obviously do. they probably don't like hw mine sounds haha... this has been the best car forum ive ever been a part of, and id like to see it continue in that direction. in any case, i'll leave a quote... "cant we all just get along" :p :headbang: :ford: :clap2:

Throwing revs is calling for races. Why buy performance cars if you don't want to race?
So you just want to drive side by side, look at each other falling in love or something?

oh trust me, im DTR lol (down to race :p ) even if I know ill probably lose, i'll give it a shot hahaha. just because you own a performance car, doesn't mean you have to be racing somebody. i take my car on mountain/canyon roads and let it rip....that's where i have the most fun. i grew up drag racing, and while i enjoy that, to me, nothing is better than beating up some twisty roads...

I guess we're just going to pretend the dragstrip section doesn't exist

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16741

Also noticed that the best that procharged v6 could do was 12.6 with head work and drag radials. That's a pretty standard time for an EB with tune and DRs. Not trolling just commenting on a forum which I've been on for quite a while now. If you don't want to discuss performance then the mods section is probably not the one you want
That 6 needs a driver mod then... the v6 record for the 11-14 cars is 12.2 NA, and 10.1 boosted. But the 15s don't launch as well without the solid rear so thats part of the issue.

It still isn't prepped for boost the way the 2.3 in the mustang is because ford didn't put the 3.7 in the V6 mustang with the intention of boosting it themselves. This is a good write up for the EB (not to get this way off topic) http://www.full-race.com/articles/Mustang-EcoBoost-Drivetrain.php

"First used in the Lincoln MKC crossover, this 2.3L I4 is based on the same 2L Duratec engine architecture as the 240hp 2.0L EcoBoost engine found in Focus ST and Fusion. However, this unique 'stroker' 2.3L motor is heavily fortified in almost every way to make more reliable horsepower in the high performance Mustang application. It represents the state-of-the-art for production engines and may prove to be the strongest and most robust turbocharged inline-4 GDI motor we've seen yet"
It may not be prepped.....but with a boosted setup, it can put out more power at low PSI, compared to the Ecoboost. It also is known take it very well on a stock engine. With that being said though, it is a waste to spend that much anyway to boost a V6....better to just get the GT.

And sure you can mod the Ecoboost to beat a GT or whatever. Have fun with blowing your motor and your warranty with that. Lets face it....the GT 5.0 is the way to go.

i would have gone 5.0 but the price point is so much higher, i just couldnt do it. and i didnt want to wait 2-3 years to buy a used one...plus...i didnt want to buy a used one. plus i like the idea of doing something a little differnt. the v6 atang is a very respectable car...unlike the 90's to 2011...those v6's sucked. the 4.0l was a ok motor...way better than the 3.8 but the 3.7 is actually a bad ass little motor imo

I think the Ecoboost is over rated for the $, I looked at the 5.0 when I bought my V6 a year ago wasn't ready to spend $35,000. I got my V6 stange for $23,000 and with $800.00 mods I've played with the Ecoboost and the 5.0 in southeast florida on I 95 and neither one pulled away, in fact I've blowen the doors off the Ecoboost. I find it funny Ford is all about the Ecoboost stang and the V6 is the stepchild when the 3.5 V6 600 hp Ford GT going to race in the Rolex 24 hour at Daytona later this month.
