without stomping on the brakes every day (just driving normally) how often should I expect to replace pads?
You should get at least 35-40K miles on a set of pads with normal daily driving. Anything less than that is abuse (HEAVY stop/go every day for hours or track driving) or defective parts.

A little thread revival here. I got these new takeoff GT 4 pots and rotors from Shelby to put on my V6. Searching around for another V6er who has done this swap and what, if any, additional parts were involved, noticeable brake bias, upgrading master cylinder, etc. Searched around and found this thread. I'm sure someone has done this swap already.

Having one heck of a time trying to grab a pair of those, for the price you got them for. Almost won an auction on ebay, but was at the store with the wife and didn't have the best cell reception to keep on bidding quickly lol

Reviving thread.

I'm at 4000 ish miles and my brake pads are low (drive it like i stole it everyday...)

The internet has not returned any results as far as brake pads for our cars go, unless its motorcraft (i would like to go with aftermarket like akebono or EBC)

Does anyone have any info?
At 4K miles? The mustang manual? If it is are you throwing the car in nutrual at 70mph and braking to the traffic light? I use to do that on my 350z when I 1st driving manual and my pads went out very quick by doing that.

Might be worth a try to call Shelby American directly and make them an offer on a set. Update on my project. I got the G2 Caliper Paint in from Ebay and the GT dust shields from Levittown.

I've decided to take the long route and I'm going to sand down the casting marks on the calipers because I want a smooth paint finish. Planning on using my rotary tool with 60 and 120 grit sanding drums, lots and lots of sanding drums!

I'm moving in to my new house next week so after that the project should go much quicker.

Yeah i've been trying to find somebody with an Ecoboost or a GT that is willing to sell his 4 pots brakes.... Would love to put them on.

But as of now, i need to find myself some decent pads for our flimsy two piston calipers...
You should talk with Jon Bowen at Juggernut Power they have take offs from projects they do and they might be able to help you they are located in CT

I won last weeks Shelby ebay auction for these at $320. They arrived quickly and are just as advertised with the brake pads, rotors and brake lines included, ready to bolt on. This is a hell of an upgrade for the price.

DR - Takes some pics and let us know your thoughts once installed. I am watching those auctions as well, but it would cost to much to ship it to Canada.

Easiest BBK install ever. It's almost like they are factory parts :)
Seriously though installing the GT front brakes was super easy and I'm a hack of a mechanic. It can easily be done in your garage with basic tools and a jack in under an hour, including bleeding them.
I drove it around and the brakes did feel firmer and stronger at higher speeds, just as I expected.
Here is the old V6 brakes vs the new GT brakes

One side down, one side to go..

All finished
