Just like the title says. Which would you/have you gone with?

LCD display and touchscreen still work but fugly and irritating and I'd like to get it fixed as soon as possible.

Not interested in upgrading to Sync 3 at this time.

I would go with used OEM screen. While the new LCD screens on eBay and Amazon (Android tablets in disguise) offer way more features than OEM, the OEM unit was built for the automotive environment. Granted yours failed, but that is the exception and not the rule. I have read on this site where some have swapped in the cheaper Amazon screens and mentioned that the screen is washed out in bright sunlight. Or the integration with the vehicle is not perfect. Or even some OEM features don't work anymore. The $1000 screens out there, to me, are a budget killer. But if I was to go and do a swap then those are the units I would research. And double check what functions you loose i.e. heated steering wheel, seats, or GPS.

Sorry may not have phrased it clearly. The eBay/Amazon LCD's I was referring to are brand new replacement LCD screens for the factory Sync 2 systems, not entirely new android tablet style headunits.

Something like this:

Since they are 3rd party direct replacements they may not get tested as well as the original supplier. But, they are cheaper than the OEM.

I was thinking the same. Wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and maybe tried these cheaper replacements?

So anyway, gambled on a used OE APIM/LCD set on ebay.

The set I got off ebay had the exact same part numbers as the one on my car but decided to re-use my APIM with this LCD to avoid any coding.

Happy to have a clear screen again!
