What am I missing here, don't want to start a love hate war as much fun as those can be. I know some like and some don't like Shelby's these days.

I am trying to understand why these aren't a bigger deal. I mean to me this looks pretty nice and would be around 66,000 total with 627 HP and lots of nice upgrades. More than just 200 xtra HP.

The usual rediculous comment

:headbonk:

Really, there isn't any Chrome???

The wheels are Silver Aluminum which I picked, I hate black wheels ! :clap2:

The grill is not chrome, but more like aluminum , the same color as the dash metal on the nicer 2015 GT's

Please someone with some brains, let me know more about why these don't come up more on the forum, than, all that Chrome Yuck, heck let me do the next one.
Geez do you think there is enough Shelby Logo's ?

all that chrome... yuck

I like it, although I like the Saleen or the Petty's Garage looks better. I also like chrome on the 2015's with certain colors (like mine). I hate "blacked out black" since you might as well be driving a generic sedan for all the curves you can see then.

Personally I don't think it looks good with the S550 design. It just looks like it was tacked on. I think Shelby stuff looked better on the S197s.

I think the design of the S550 is cohesive enough that it's very easy to make it worse and hard to improve upon. Even the builders putting out cars I like, I don't necessarily like them over the stock look (beyond paint schemes).

I mean...you're paying for the name, which is fine if you want to say you own a Shelby. You can get a lot more upgrades for a lot less. But then you don't get to say you own a Shelby.

All about what's important to you. If I wanted the Shelby you configured on top of the purchase price of my car...I'm looking at over $75k. That's crazy talk for a car that's slower than mine but costs significantly more.

I don't like the bling on the car and a 5.0 with a blower makes more power than I want to grow accustomed to... yet. :D

Maybe in about 10 years I will go for 600+ HP. Right now I'd like to stay in the 500s so I don't spoil myself too much.

While I am not a fan, that is a terrible pic. it does look better from proper pics I've seen.

Too much appearance stuff in the basic package for me, and I'd much rather have less weight over the nose and better handling than another 200 HP anyway.

Appearance-wise, it's actually not a bad color scheme if you like bold and "look at me!", but it's too 'busy' and too bright for those who might prefer something a bit more subtle.

All in all and for about the same money, I'd rather have a GT350 or a C7 Stingray with a little left over for a tire and brake pad fund.

Yes you can put all those goodies on yourself for less but I don't think in 30 years it would be the same. I know a lot of people have claimed the age of collector value cars is past but I don't agree.

The same was said about coins. Most said since they no longer made coins or copper and silver the collector value would be gone. Didn't happen. What holds true is the production number determines the value. Even a modern penny, if a low number minted, will only go up in value. I think the same will be true for the Shelby. Give it 30 years and it will bring far more than being paid for now to collectors.
