2015 PP Brake Cooling Duct

I decided to create a brake cooling duct for my car. I just joined this forum and it helped a lot in finding info for this project.

I started with a PVC Pipe fitting that was 1.9" ID and realized later this was going to be so small I was unsure it would be effective.

I changed to 2.5" ID which I felt looked much more appropriate. This size also seemed to not have as many routing/fitment issues passing the suspension components that a larger diameter might pose.

I wouldn’t it cool better with nothing around it? I feel like the extra stuff you added on will retain heat

It's probably a good idea to keep heat off of things like tierod ends and balljoints.

There's also the thought that keeping at least part of the dust shield in place encourages more of the ducted air to go through the rotor vents instead of spilling across only the inboard face of the rotors' inner 'cheeks'.

Props for the DIY effort. It's nice to see a little "built, not bought".

And you at least have a picture showing some sort of date for that part in case you ever need to replace it in the future.

very stealth looking.

How fun is it getting that lower grill off and back on the bumper? Those damn plastic clips.

yeah the plates are there to try keep the air from escaping the wrong direction

Yeah exactly my reasoning to keep more of the shield. To encourage the ducted air to travel through the disk and not around the face. And to protect balljoints.

So fun. Damn clips is right. Definitely took patience and force to pry it off. Went back together little easier.

I haven't. Honestly, I'm about to go to my first track day with the car in a month. Planning to start going to some HPDE days now that I have some more free time. I had the bumper off for a repair I was doing and just decided to make this as a fun project that hopefully will help the brakes and hub assembly stay a bit cooler and last longer.

I'd be interested in trying temp sensors though. The duct and plate is pretty easy to remove. I could take one side off and return it to stock and see what the difference is when I take it out to the track. What type of temp sensor? The sticker types?
