Hey guys quick quest I've been searching. If my dealer puts out an order this week or next in REALLY worse case when should I see my car? Or should I wait till they get on lots?
Well I ordered on 9/16 and I got a VIN but no build date yet so it can be roughly 3 months or more if lucky maybe 2 months

If it matches your specs and has a VIN, that's pretty cool, you may want to go buy a lottery ticket as well.

2015 Mustang order and Tracking

Guy's help me out with this...understanding the Ford Mustang Order Tracking System.

I've been following this forum since April this year. Many members placed orders early on. I've read that some still done have Vin #'s to date.

What the heck is up with that?

Is i posible at all that their orders were never actually placed?

That somehow their orders were lost?

Why would it matter if the were orderd prior to Ok to Buy date?

I'd be completely pissed off if I were them.

I'm not boosting...just saying

I went to the Ford Dealer on the Oct 13th, placed my order. Dealer said 6-8 weeks, but more likely could be 10-12 weeks. By the end of the day, I went to COTUS and entered my order number and dealer number...Boom! There was my order with all my information.

Today Oct 17th...Boom! Vin #

What I am I to make of that? Should I take it ith a grain of salt?

6-8 weeks/8-10 weeks for the vin or for the car to be built and delivered? I'm sure he meant for a build date/ and if you're lucky enough a delivery date. People hadn't received vins and build dates before because there were the dealer stock orders going it. After that theres the QC for Job 1 cars and Job 2 is when they've really started to pump out the cars. If you contact Rachel with Ford Services she may be able to help you asap and give you a tentative build date if you are able to provide her with the vin.
Anyways cheers!!! We should be in the same build week which Rachel said should be mid November for me.

Picked up my new stang this morning up in W Va. Got tired of waiting for mine through dealer stock. Found one even better than the one I ordered. Black, PP, 401a and 50th ann edition. Pictures tomorrow. Man that thang is fun to drive. Seems a bit slower than the 2014 version of the 5.0, but a lot more fun. The computer in these things are unreal, it does so much, and those little toggles are just plain cool!

Well I spent along time at local Ford dealer today. Long chat with the ordering dept head. He looked my order up for me and it's not even showing up yet. When he put his first few orders in for stock he was only accepted on one PP. There is according to Flat Rock not enough parts to build all the PP orders, and no word on how long the backlog is going to be. All other PP ordered were kicked back, and the plant is not accepting any more PP at this moment. His first and only 2015 with PP will arrive Nov 14, and he has a long list of customers wanting it.
I was so pissed that I may not see my car before Jan/February that I almost bought a 2009 gt500 with 30,000 miles from the showroom.

Sorry but keep in mind you ordered in August. Some guys that orderes in May still don't have a vin number. Most of us that ordered in May still don't have our cars. A good portion of people who ordered June/July won't get their car till December. So with all that said don't know how you can be mad unless you were specifically promised something different.

Allocations are for Stock orders, not retail orders. Retail orders do not count against a dealership's allocations.

Yeah there are some rareities but for his position he is mad he might not see his car till jan. That's 5 months after he ordered it. May orders have already waited 5 months most of us it will be closer to 6 months. Just trying to put it into perspective. His situation vs others

I understand that everyone is waiting, I know I'm not alone or special. The original estimate i was told was late Oct. , now I realize that was a little to optimistic for my dealer to tell me. Not only did he guess wrong but he ordered it as retail not stock.
The part i was mad at is the guess on Jan/Feb is optimistic at this point as with lots of your May orders their still not built, and the PP models are taking longer.
I spent the evening looking at a few2012-2014 Roush models , some 2009 Gt500 Cobras and others for the same price as Im going to pay for my Ecoboost, but when I look at the interiors and exteriors I know I just need to wait and be patient with the rest of you all.
Good Luck everyone on getting their cars! :ford:

Ecobeast, yeah his estimate was crazy. At same time does has changed expected delivery a ton. Heck in June ford was scheduling test drives for the 2nd of October. The fact that he entered your order wrong you could use in your favor. You mentioned a car coming nov 14. If it's like yours or so close it doesn't matter I would make him give you that one. Yes he has slot of people interested but his error in ordering yours caused this delay. So you should have first dibs on that car and he can retail sell your order when ever it arrives.

As ford looking at other cars. Don't bud. Sure the Cobras and such all have some among power but features and drive wise they won't compare. I was able
To test drive a v6 auto today. I was very pleased and it was better then I thought. I have a 2012 now and it's night and day between the 2 and was sad that I had to go back to driving the old va new style. I have an ecobeast premium pp coming. Supposedly around the end of the month. The base v6 both interior driving and handling was all better then I hoped. I can only imagine how the premium pp will be.

Good luck on yours and don't give up. If you got a cobra or anything now I think you'll regret it. Hang in there
