That's what I meant, showing on COTUS.
COTUS updates seem to be irregular and not always in sync with scheduling. It is possible that scheduling for this week is not yet complete but the VIN assignment is done and available to COTUS.

Cotus isn't showing build dates for anyone. It'll show the date when a step is complete, but not an estimated date. Not for me, not for anyone.

Post a pic if you have information that shows otherwise.

You need to call your dealer and ask what the 'Scheduled to Day' date is. Not sure if there's a delay from when you get a VIN to when this data is populated, but I don't think there is. I think it happens at the same time. It's possible the date will move, but I think the date should be there. But COTUS won't show it.

Really? I was under the impression, not only from the COTUS site, but from other members, that a build date populated and showed on COTUS after the VIN showed up.

That's incorrect. The pricing structure is independent of the order type.

I'm buying using x-plan, and they're giving me a stock order since it's coming first.

Get the dora for your vin, and tell us what the order type says. I'd love to believe it's a retail order, but I don't until I see proof because so far, you're the only one.
You are buying it using the x plan but they placed your order as a stock order. I'm buying using the x plan but they placed my order as an x plan order which automatically makes it a retail order. That's the difference. I know mine was placed that way because tricia looked it up for me.

If that's true, I'd love to see a screen capture. So far all I've ever seen is a VIN field being added, and dates get put in the specific process steps as the order moves through each step, with the date being the date it left that phase.

I've not seen one with an 'est. build date' as the description in the 'in order processing' step indicates there should be in the 'upper left'. The VIN, yes, but not the build date.

That's all fine, I'm just pointing out that an 'X' order isn't necessarily a requirement of paying on the x-plan. I'll get x-plan pricing even though I have a stock order. Some dealers will do that, some won't.

I just want to make sure you understand the difference. The dealer does have a choice, it doesn't have to be done as an 'X' order. If retail orders start being picked up next week, then it's really a moot point as they'll get priority over stock orders once that happens and it would be a bad thing to have a stock order at that point.

Hopefully you get scheduled next week and then you only have to wait for delivery like the rest of us. Cheers!

SAL JC was yours stock or customer order. I heard COTUS doesn't update until Monday. How true that is who knows. So maybe some of us have Vin's and don't know it.

I don't think COTUS is an old fashioned system that does batch jobs overnight. I asked my dealer to make a change in my order and it updated immediately. They may submit their updates at the same time but I would think it's whenever they do it, not on a batch schedule...

This isn't necessarily true. Searching the internet for historical data on Ford's scheduling process uncovers the following rules:

(1) Dealers are lined up in a random order - this must have happened years ago since, as far as I can tell, the same random order has been used during each scheduling round on this model. First up on the list appears to be New England region dealers.
(2) When each dealer 's turn comes up they get their lowest priority number scheduled if they have an allocation and if the commodties are available to build that order. One allocation is used if the order is scheduled. If they don't have an allocation or their lowest priority number order is unbuildable they get skipped that round. If the lowest priority number is assigned to a stock order and a retail order the retail order wins. If one or more orders of the same type has the same priority number then the oldest order wins.
(3) This continues through many rounds with each round considering the dealer's next lowest priority order and allocation status until all buildable allocations are scheduled.
(4) If there are still enough commodties left to build cars after the all possible allocations are scheduled, dealer's without an allocation have their retail orders considered for scheduling using the same random order as above. These rounds are the only time a retail order with a higher priority number would schedule before a stock order with a lower priority number.

This is how the scheduling process has worked in the past. Of course Ford could decide to run a retail order only scheduling week, but I have seen no evidence of them doing that in the past.

As you can see, the priority number assigned by the dealer reletive to his other orders is the primary factor in determining when an order will schedule. If he places all his stock orders at priority 10 and all his retail orders at priority 11, all the stock orders will be considered first before the retail orders for that specific dealer.

We, as retail customers, have minimal influence on how orders are placed. A dealer can make your wait indefinite if he choses to do so.

Stock orders can't be 10. They're 20-29 only. Retail are 1-19 (although the dealer can't assign below 10, only Ford can)

I was told my order priority is 10. Sounds like a good thing. My retail order was placed on 5/22. Hurry up Ford before I commit suicide. Haha! A bit too dramatic? BOOM!
