Starting next week, us retail orders will get mixed in with stock orders that haven't been filled yet. Both will be built. So does that mean that if you're right, and retails orders get scheduled next, then a stock order placed today (like mine technically was) would become a lower priority and get scheduled later since it wasn't in the first batch of stock orders?
Or would they be just about the same place in the queue at this point?
Awesome to hear. I hope it comes sooner than later, but I really hope my new car is delivered before we get too much snow. I don't want to have to put my winter wheels on my '13, take them off to trade it in, then put them on my '15.That's going to be really hard to guess.
It looks like Job 2 is going to start around the end of the month, then something like 6-8 weeks to delivery is about what people have been saying to expect. Which would be mid November to early Dec.
Definitely before the end of the year.
Thanks for providing that. That has been my go-to reference for awhile. I also like your interpretations of what is likely going on right now and what has been for awhile. We've had various Ford dealership folks post about this process, but your comments help bring it to life for the current situation we are seeing.Reference this article written about Ford allocation and scheduling by a dealer in 2008 for information about how the scheduling should work once retail (type 1, sold) orders are eligible for scheduling: http://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/f61/ford-dealer-discusses-orders-allocation-19747/
Sure, I don't mind. Thanks for providing that. That has been my go-to reference for awhile. I also like your interpretations of what is likely going on right now and what has been for awhile. I think your post should be in the Wiki. Do you mind if I suggest it for that?

There are both dealer stock and customer retail orders on that tracking site. All orders taken so far (other than fleet orders) are there. To date, only dealer stock orders have been scheduled (those with a VIN).... makes me wonder if retail orders are only tracked on http://www.cotusb.ford.com/ or are all dealer cars tracked on there?

That is the consensus on this board, but Ford has yet to confirm an okay to buy date. Your guess is as good as any (except maybe Topnotch :gossipSo next week we can expect to start getting VIN numbers for our retail orders?
Perhaps people with $$$ or influence? VPs in the company? Friends of VPs? I would not be surprised if the executives in the company don't take care of themselves and their friends. It's okay with me, I would do the same thing.I noticed something today looking at several orders on the COTUS site. There have been several cars built now that have no dealer information attached to them. Every single one like that has a window sticker claiming Canada or Mexico as the destination.
The lowest bank of VIN numbers, *5300002 through about *5300401 are all those type of orders. It appears the Canadian orders were scheduled first, then the Mexican orders, followed by US orders starting at around *5300402. I also see a few foreign orders sprinkled throughout the rest of the assigned VIN range (you can see a couple around *5312000).
It surprised me, seeing how these early VIN numbers were assumed to be media and executive cars. And I did not know that order banks were turned on yet in Canada and Mexico.
Here's a higher VIN with no dealer info, and ordered 4/6:The lowest bank of VIN numbers, *5300002 through about *5300401 are all those type of orders.
