Besides the auto dim mirrors, these are pretty luxurious options I'm not sure we'll see on a mustang
The glass roof already exists on a mustang and ford uses the no key push button start on some of its other models. This car competes with the m3 on the performance aspect why not take some steps in the right direction with interior quality and options?

The thing is, they should have no trouble using the corporate parts bin, which is pretty decent right now, and get some quality components. The new switchgear in the Fusion is great, as is the push button start and key fobs. No need to reinvent the wheel here. Headlamp, window, side mirror, steering wheel switchgear should be used across the board, keeping costs down.

I'm all for upgrading interior quality and options, but not if it balloons the price up a ton. I don't believe in moving the next Mustang upmarket, it's been great in the space and market that it currently occupies.

I agree keep the base mustang affordable. It would be nice for a good amount of extra pay options. It's not like ford needs to develop cutting edge technology, everything I mentioned exists in one way or another in one of their other cars.

I'd like to see the following:

-heated/cooled seats
-tech package (HID/LED lighting, heated mirrors with auto dimming, etc.)
-selectable/configurable driver modes
-adaptive cruise control
-push button start, smart keyless entry, and memory seats

I want to see this car have the same range of options that a BMW 4-series has, from performance (M-sport/Track Pack) to luxury (comfort access, upgraded interior). Make people cross-shop and compare the two.
Yes please to ALL of those. Also keep them optioned, however, so people can have their cheaper more basic cars if they so choose.

Agreed. I still think there's a place for a stripped down, base GT trim, as the '10-14 has.

Yep, I want everything as a factory option, with "option" being the key word. I would love to see the return of a true "base" model.

I am ok with power windows and locks, and maybe even A/C. But I don't need(or want) anything else.

Base car should have power windows/door locks, and Sync, but nothing else standard. Available options should be limited to anything performance oriented, like a track package or Recaro seats. That's it.

I remember when Fiat took ownership of Chrysler it was only $150 to $300 per car for better materials.

I remember reading an article on interior material costs. They said something along the lines of $300 would create a dramatically more luxurious interior on something like a Corvette. The thought is, while it costs Ford $300 on the bottom, they can charge infinitely more on perceived value.

If it would only cost $150-300 for way better materials then I have no idea why they don't do it. I would rather they give us halogens that I can swap out for less cost than get all the cheap hard plastics and cheap interior materials that we're basically stuck with. There's so much extra junk thrown into cars these days when I'm sure most people would prefer they just use that money towards nicer interior finish.

All you have to do is look at an Audi A4, $33000 and the interior puts the mustang to shame, same cost as GT, much less than the boss or shelby.

As well the new fusion is very nice, so no excuse for the mustang to have the same crappy interior.

Do not have to give up the head lights either. We the customers just need to demand ford build the mustang properly and not always hang on the old bs about its a muscle car keep it cheap

I do think ford will get it rIght, and they are building very good cars right now

Well since the new Mustang will be getting MyFord Touch I hope it is somehow different (in layout) than the current Fusion/MKZ/Focus style.
