Okay guys, I may very well get flamed because of the prices I am asking, but I recently acquired 2 more 50th anniversary mustangs one in Wimbledon White and one in Kona Blue. Both of the Mustangs are 6 speed manual trans. I will be posting up pictures shortly right now both cars are locked away inside. If any one is interested please let me know and I would be happy to give you more details. These will both be marked up over sticker. The Kona Blue will have less of a mark up though.

Why is that?
It has nothing to do with the color, it has to do with the fact that we got it directly from Ford, the white one I obtained through a dealer swap. It will not differ by much, and either way truthfully I will glad give the best pricing I can.

The dealers who put their chips betting on people paying markups have lost big time. There are over 400 LE's listed on autotrader, (some are erroneously posted) bottom line is nobody is paying some stupid amount, lets say 10-20k. Why not give a chance for someone who wants it, to have it at sticker.

Galpin Ford, whom got the most is asking 30k and are stuck with left over inventory. As I see it now, there's high supply and low demand.

Why not go to work for no paycheck? Or how about invest that pay for 0% on an investment? Dealers are businesses, they have a product to sell, which they have paid for. Their intention is to make the biggest return on their investment as possible, so they can reinvest in their company and pay their employees. It's naive and immature to say "why not just sell them for less?". The short answer is: they will. If no one comes along and pays the ADM they're asking, they'll lower it until it sells. That's the way capitalism works. That's the reason your boss can pay you. You wouldn't go to McDonald's and say "I know that you would make a profit if you sold me that cheeseburger for 10¢ less". So why do it to this guy?

That said, Thanks for posting OP, I'm sure there are a few buyers out there in search of LEs and they'll apprecatie you posting as well.

All American Ford in Old Bridge, I have the one right now put away in safe storage at one of my other dealerships up north.

My two cents...even in crazy California...MSRP is possible ( did 2 weeks ago)... Let them sit in their showroom for 45 days and the dealer begins to think ADM ain't so smart.

Out here our local Mustang and related car clubs just love to bash ADM dealers and make sure work colleagues, friends, family etc are steered to more consumer friendly dealers for standard car purchases. For every $1000 they make on ADM I wonder if they realize how much they lose in other sales and referrals.

My Limited is NOT for use as a daily driver. Getting ready to Order a 15 EcoBoast for that (was going to wait for the 16s until I learned the EB can get the 50th Appearence pack and I like some of the 50th items)...well guess what...local dealers asking $8k over for the LE getting that sale...nope...my MSRP LE dealer 75 miles away is (once we get the missing picture and shipping cover issues resolved.)

Now when dealers get say $10,000 over MSRP on a LE, Boss 302, GT500/350 they do split that with Ford don't they- say on a 50/50 basis. I mean Ford increases their Invoice to the dealer with an internal ADM on these hot cars.... don't they?

This is incorrect, rather Ford expects the dealership to get the added profit through ADM. How much ADM is left up to the dealer and the market they sell in. We always go off fair market value. I have found not always but rather often the people who bash the dealerships the most are the ones who the dealership loses money on. Some people you can never make happy. Others who just have a problem with ADM I can understand slightly. Like I said it's all relevant though. There is a big difference between a 3k ADM when your located right outside NYC where incomes are higher and specialty vehicles are in high demand, and a 30k ADM where you likely just leave a bad taste in people's mouth.

How have they lost? Even the f they don't sell for the huge ADM, they WILL sell. Why not try to get ADM, if that doesn't work, sell for MSRP. As a buyer you are smart to pay MSRP or less, but as a dealer in to smart to TRY and sell for over MSRP. I know it's not a popular viewpoint, but oh well!!!

You go ahead and wait 45 days for the price to drop. lol What could go wrong? I paid 54,999 for number 98. i was thrilled. If you dont like the price, go by another car. If you can get it at MSRP, awesome! Nobody is putting a gun to your head to buy it. If they all went for MSRP, I know I wouldnt have one because they would be sold before they hit the floor. Not sorry here. I love my car.

I see both sides of the coin. MSRP means just that "SUGGESTED" retail price. The McDonald's comparison is apples to oranges as a Big Mac is a set price and that price depends on location.

On the other hand if a dealer can get ADM then good on them. There's a group of folks who will pay premium price and that's who the dealers are targeting, that's social engineering. In Albuquerque one of the dealers is asking $20K over MSRP for a KB manual and they won't budge a dime.

If you don't want to pay ADM then do some leg work and contact dealers who have the cars on the lot. I had a written quote for a WW auto for $45170 which is about 3k under MSRP. It's at a small dealership in Oklahoma who only got one LE and does most of it's business in trucks and SUVs. I didn't want a WW but I was seriously considering a KB manual and was looking for competitive pricing to get other dealers to consider coming down. I also had 3 other dealers with KB manuals offer them to me at MSRP. In the end I decided I would save myself 8K by getting a GT PP which I'm going to modify and daily drive. In the end I didn't want to do that to an LE when I could use that extra money to pay for my future mods.

Bottom line, there's plenty of dealers looking to sell cars. You just have to be willing to put in some work to get the deal you want.

:ford: Good that's the whole point of buying these cars.

Remember a quote is just that until you leave the lot with the car. Yes you are correct you may be able to find one at MSRP, but make no mistake don't look at just the sticker price when buying a car. Instead look at the car and see if it makes you smile. If it makes you smile, and you can afford it, it is probably a good deal.
