Great work on that grill. I'd be interested if you and your son decide to make a few.

I cut out the open honeycomb area with a small hack saw. This kept the airflow as Ford had planned for the vehicle.

I then drilled these marked 6 holes for the cable tie mounts. *NOTE the driver side openings are already fine for mounting and left intact, no drill required there.

We then used 11" black cable ties and put everything in place.

You pull the zip ties tight (not too tight of course) so that it rests within the frame of the stock grille, then cut the excess and push the cable tie heads back behind it with a flat head.

Soon I want to do the lower grille as well, I don't have a second one yet for a bench template.

Getting the contour right is tough, that's where owning two grilles comes in handy. You have to finesse it into shape so it just wants to lay against it, so once mounted it isn't trying to spring back into a flat shape.

Hi all, first post here but been a lurker for a while.

This is my 2015 Mustang Ecoboost Premium in Deep Impact Blue, black leather interior. I created a mesh / neoprene grille and mounted a tri-bar pony, and cut the stock grille's open honeycomb section out (center) and then drilled and mounted it with black cable ties. I also just had 10" stripes with a 1" gap added today and wanted to share!

Looks great Warren!

Keep up the good work! What's next on the list?

Love those stripes

Those look really nice, I have the Ruby Red, need to see if I can find a pic of a Ruby with maybe Silver or Grey Stripes on it.

Looks good, Flaps

In person the Ruby Red struck me as going black with accents, and if I was going to louver one it would be that color.

I considered louvers on the rear glass but it's arguably the sexiest back glass on a Mustang to date...and I just cannot cover that up!

Looks great Warhead! I've got a spare grill I might try that on. Always wanted just the tribar pony on the side like I have on my '66. When I first saw the 6G introduced, your grill popped into my head.
I'm over in NE Columbia myself.

The tri-bar I used is the same one on my '71 Mach 1.

Very cool, almost a neighbor! I was just there last night at Sandhills with the kids (Jurassic World).
