Just got my Magnetic GT. From the factory one of the hood scoops was guard instead of metallic. This was noticed and they ordered a replacement supposedly in the right color. Well, when it arrived it is just primer...they have to paint it. During that few days I have had it...I noticed a chip. See the below picture. They said they will have to pull the back window and trunk and re-bondo and repaint the whole area. Debating what I should do. Should I let them paint the whole back section???

I'm assuming you meant guard instead of "Magnetic" since guard is a metallic paint. That is pretty hilarious that someone in QA was colorblind. I would probably just return it and get another one before I dealt with repairs on a brand new car. It's a base magnetic, there HAS to be an identical one on a lot somewhere within range of you that they can trade for

Pulling the rear window can cause a LOT of leaking / creaking / other problems down the road. I'd just live with the chip in the paint, to be honest.

Ouch, I would have to have that chip fixed as it would bug the f@ck out of knowing it was there.

That being said, not sure I'm entirely comfortable with them having to do all that work on a brand new car. My fear is it would always be noticeable.

This is completely untrue, window replacement is done ALL THE TIME with little to no noticable effects.

That being said I can not wait until a lexan rear/backhalf window set becomes available. I will rip out the back glass and load a lightweight lexan piece without one single worry of ill effects.

Its a very minute chip...but it bothered me...they put TouchUp paint on it and its much less visible...I'm just wondering if I should have them pull all that and rebondo/paint. Think the color will come out right? And the seals be good?

Its base, 6MT with the 5 spoke rims, enhanced security pack and 3.55 diff. And they aren't easy to find, had to hunt for a while.
