I'm very surprised that there is not a discussion about this email sent from Ford Performance.
To all those that said our mass call to FP would not have any effect on the situation I believe you were wrong. Looks like we finally have a statement from FP.

What do you guys think about this email from FP?
I'm glad it got some kind of response. I just want to make sure we are not waiting for no resolution. This update is definetly a breath of fresh air

as an update to my situation, i guess i should have posted my status earlier.

Magically, less than 24 hours after i posted, the service manager at my dealer reached out and said that my car was finished and they tested it.

That being said, i had an aftermarket shift knob on the car, which was cracked when overtightened., which they ap[ologized for and are replacing. They are also now getting estimates for the damaged caused by the roadside assistance contractor so that the estimates can be provided to agero and compensation can be worked out.

I still find serious fault with Ford insisting that the trans tail cone be all that was replaced, and putting the requirement for tools on the dealership, all of which were specialty tools that had to be ordered, which added 2 full weeks of wait time tot he process.

2 weeks could have been saved by simply just sending a trans.

furthermore, the claims process for getting the damage repaired while the car is in Ford's custody is not at all easy. in fact, it is rather painful. Agero does not go right to the dealer to work it out. I have to be the middle-man.

i will fully admit, Ford will have to really go above and beyond to undo the indication that i have, right now.

My parents were going to buy a pair of Ford vehicles to replace their aging rides. My dad, after paying close attention to my situation decided to go elsewhere. Y'all talk about the financial impact to ford, well how they handled my situation just cost FMC 137K in sales from my family already. There will be an additional financial impact next month when my company buys the 3 vans we need from Mercedes instead of Ford.

So one terribly mishandled problem with a flagship performance vehicle, costs ford $300K in revenue within 2 months.

I'd say that is something that Ford should consider when being penny smart and pound foolish.

I'm actually pretty happy that I decided to not even put an application in on the Ford GT. I'd be even more pissed if I got selected and ended up int he same situation as crazyfish. I have a pretty stong feeling that my shelby gt350 will get sold within the next 6 months. I have my order form all fiulled out for something amazing and not Ford. The only reason that I havent pulled the triggert yet, is that the Ford Family member and Stock holder in me still has a slight hope that Ford will make things right for me.

In all reality, I feel like they need to make things right for anyone that is having issues with their gt350. Coolers, paint issues, dealer challenges etc, for me to stick with it. Otherwise, I'll silently vote with my wallet, my brand ambassadorship, and business acquisitions. I'll also make sure that behind the scenes, when doing business with Ford, to continue to do business the way my company always has with Ford. Leadership by example I guess.

I dont understand how they cant grasp the gravity of this kind of situation, potentially costing them hundreds of thousands, if not millions, per customer. I cant imagine ignoring common sense like they do. I have to do right by my customers if anything goes wrong, or else I cant sleep at night. Ill be buying at least one new car in the next couple years, and work vans in the future. I hope Ford is listening: Dont screw your customers.

Exactly, trading in my f150 this year, new one won't be a ford. My mom has had fords for years and her lease is up next year. She won't get a ford. Son wanted a focus but guess what, he's not getting a ford. They have had 3 quarters to make some guesture, I'm done. The only des idiom left is how long I keep this car.

FYI. I hope this is helpful. :ford:

I think this email sent to me and partially quoted above was an attempt by Ford Performance to try to help forum members understand the current situation and provide a best estimate for delivery of a solution
FP may be small but somebody needs to put on their big boy pants and get some help from big blue. It is a silly excuse.

Did some unscientific testing today with my friend who own's a 2016 Track Pack. We did a 32 mile drive and it was in the low 80s. 95% of the trip was highway driving between 60 to 80MPH with one WOT run to triple digits on open highway. This temp was at 135 when we arrived and I was at 190. The cars were parked for about 1 1/2 hrs. Same drive back between 60-80 MPH with one WOT run to triple digits. The temp outside was now in the low 90s and it's more humid. When we got back my temp was 221 and his...135. It seems the Track Pack stabilizes where the Tech Pack keeps climbing.
I don't have a transmission temp gauge but knowing that it gets that hot even without tracking the car is definitely a problem and if FORD doesn't take care of it soon, I will get rid of the car. Just not worth the hassle and risk. My transmission is trashed now and even when it gets fixed, it won't last very long at those temps. I predict a lot of 15 and 16 techs for sale in the near future.

i also want to be clear, the service manager at my dealership is the only reason that ive hung in this far without blowing my top or threatening legal action. he's a good guy and tries very hard. it isnt his fault that ford has been jacking both of us around. im certain ford isnt reimbursing him for the tools that he had to purchase either.

and while i have the means to have a car sit for a month, pay for it, etc, i'm sure that the couple hundred bucks in tools isnt something that the service manager wanted to invest in right now.

so ford, since it seems yall are watching, you may want to recognize Danny. you also may want to pay for those magical specialty tools.

No dog in this fight, but have any of you looked at SVTDSM's trans cooler install thread?

The pump was $189
Cooler $71
Air duct from track pack/R $80
$250 worth of an-hose, fittings, and adapters.:tsk:
About another $50 for miscellaneous aluminum, nuts, bolts, wire, and a switch.
Looks like he's in for $640 plus some labor on his part. Seemed like a smart fix to me.

We are in the same boat bud. My dealership has been great but same situation. They don't have all the tools needed to tear down my transmission and because Ford doesn't want to send out a new transmission, they are wasting everyone's time. My service team is pissed at the regional customer service manager because there is no reasoning with her. Those folks are a joke. I call them the Ford Customer I don't give a shit Team now.

when your trans cracks and starts leaking on its own without modifying it at all, you become far more hesitant to alter it, in any way. if i had done that mod ( which i had planned to, but hadnt gotten to), id have been screwed.

I think that's the reason why most of us are waiting to see if the FP kit gets installed by a certified Ford dealership if we'll get any kind of warranty on the installlation.
