Although this is probably a null point as I intend to get a 2015 Mustang, I am curious how the cargo capacity of the 2011-2014 coupes compare to the convertible. One of my gripes when I rented a 2013 Mustang convertible was the fact I couldn't fit my girlfriend's luggage into the trunk due to the narrowing floorline near the seat/rear diff. Now I imagine the coupe would have a longer trunk since it doesn't need room for the roof to go into, but can any of you fit a large (26" tall) travel suitcase into your trunks? I'd hate to wrestle suitcase(s) into the back seat as this usually marks up the plastic on the seatbacks if you're not really careful (I've owned 6 coupes, so I know the pain). Just curious how the coupes fare. The floor line rising due to the solid rear axle should be more flat with the introduction of IRS on the 2015 model, correct?

Just so you know I'm talking about the larger roller bags people travel with on long trips/flights etc.

It could be lower - IF they re-do the car to that extent. Remember the S550 is just the same basic S197 bones underneath. And the frame at each side is already bumper-level, so only the middle could be lower.
They could also reduce the size of the driveshaft tunnel, and re-angle the engine a bit. But it's all a big IF since this is *not* an all-new platform, aka it's not something designed clean-sheet (like the Alpha, for example).

Consider these two pictures:

Look at how low the transmission tunnel is here. It doesn't have to cope with a driveshaft bouncing up and down.
(the brace, BTW, is pointless bling - it should never be used for a harness).
Look at the trunk floor height here - this is a car that was clean-sheet designed for it's IRS. The floor is as low as possible. The Nissan "FM" platform is shared with several Infinitis too such as the G37, M37, FX35, and more. Also the new Q50, which is just a reskin of the existing G37 (with a very slight update to the IRS).
That huge brace low and between the rear shock towers is something exclusive to the Z; the other FM platform users don't have one that big (or intrusive). But it is structurally functional.
