Think you are letting the ramblings confuse you, it is a 302.

I think I got confused when I looked at the shifter and the engine picture. I guess I don't remember what a Boss 302 should look like. I wasn't sure it had the Cleveland style heads. I even thought that shifter with the T handle looked like a shifter for an automatic. The clutch pedal is so wide I initially thought it was a brake pedal, but now I see that there are 3 pedals.

I also saw that there isn't a tacho as part of the gages in the dash, which really confused me.
