That is looking amazing, can’t wait to see it further along. I wish I had the patience to do a full build like that. I’ve had my 67 coupe for 28 years and just manage to do an upgrade each summer. I like driving it to much to leave it in pieces for too long. It’s got the 351w and top loader as well. Last years upgrade was dual carbs and electric cut outs.

With as much work, time, $$$, and dedication you have into this ride - I hope you have it properly insured on an Agreed Value policy. Some Collector Car policies will cover project cars (as well as stored parts up to a certain value). Just putting it out there for those watching along, because it’s an important aspect for any Automotive Enthusiast who have a lot wrapped up into a years long build.

The project is looking awesome; it has come a long way and I’m sure you’re super excited about it being on the ground at this stage!
Thanks we’re in process of doing that before it leaves for bodywork

Wound up using Haggerty. They were overall cheaper for 2 year build insurance around $1300.00
They also quoted for finished project around $2000 per year with sentimental clause.
other insurers wouldn’t provide that and limited coverage.

Shop sent some pics. They’re setting gaps and getting all surfaces prepped. Even the best replacement sheet metal needed some work to fit. Making progress!

That’s looking good, glad to see progress being made. Gonna be sick when it’s done. Well, as done as these old cars ever get. 😁

my biggest regret was dumping my girlfriend who had a 65 K-code. that car was a fricken blast ! That 289 was very impressive for it's size.

The old Hi-Po solid lifter 289 was a beast for it's day.

I had a roommate in college that had a 66 fastback with the 289 and 4 speed with 4th being an overdrive. We could cruise at 90 mph in 4th at 1800 rpm easily with power to spare. It wasn't a posi so was just a one tire fryer but still fun to drive.

We’re refreshing the 69 351W my buddy installed back in late 70s. Going with a holly sniper fuel injection system. Should make close to 450hp when done. Also rebuilding the top loader 4 speed. With the new 3:70 posi it should get out of its own way 😃
