Those firehawks didn't look sticky enough.

I gave up on the wheel gap issue and embraced a lighter rotational mass. For $197 a tire the S007a 275/40/18s don't look bad to me and are only 51lbs per corner with my EC7s. You get 9.5 inches of tread on the ground which is good for the streets and probably some casual tracking.

My 20s close the wheel gap down to nothing but they are so heavy I've decided to only run them Nov through March.

I think I'll also pick up a set of Hankook RS4s in 295/40/18 for a total of 11 inches on the ground and in a sticker compound soon but it will come at a cost of 3lbs per wheel. On the streets, the loss of performance from 3lbs per wheel in acceleration and feel probably washes out the gains from increased traction and money spent so the plan is to wear out the S007as on the streets and with some track time first. I don't feel like buying a 4th set of wheels to accommodate a 4th set of tires but if I did I might try some 19x10s.

Believe it or not...i am already having to run a 1 /4 inch spacer on the front to keep even my 275 /40/18s from rubbing at full lock.

Let us know how those S007s do when you have some miles on them. I’m really interested how they hold up on track.

I have a few minor grips some already in the reviews.

It is lacking a tiny bit if longitudinal grip if you are hard on the throttle but that's with ambient temps in the 50s and 60s and no burn out (this is marked as an "extreme summer" tire so I assume it will get better as things get warmer.) Also I feel like I would only be happy with a drag radial..lol.

Wet traction on cooler days is also mediocre.

Lateral traction is pretty dang good for the money even when cold.

Remember this is a 275 and most guys would be taking a 285 to 305 to a track.
