This post makes me LOL. Especially the part in bold. APPEAL. Also "the stupid rebates Ford did"? WTF is that garbage. The Camaro is the BETTER car? That is not accurate. Just like I cannot say the Mustang is the BETTER car.
Lol the same thing happened in 02'. You can just buy a mustang for a cheaper price and when it comes down to it, people always like cheaper better.

This car almost looks like the previous body style. Is Chevy going the route of Mopar. Where the challenger has the same body style and never changes?

Yah crazy huh? You do get a lot more included on the 2SS but many would rather have options you can add on vs having them built in.

As for that quote, that damn thing better weigh 3600lbs for this price..lol.

1LT comes with the 4 cylinder standard. Not sure what it costs to get the v6 which would be more comparable to the ecoboost? Probably another 2k. That would put a base v6 at nearly 29K. You could get a pp ecoboost for around that. Or a couple more grand get a premium ecoboost. I think these car manufacturers are smoking crack or the people buying them at least. The prices are escalating way too fast. I don't know about you guys but my salary isn't increasing 5-10% every year.
Shoot, bruh -- you throw 29k out there, and I'm buying a stripper GT!

I did a few posts over there and gave up. They are too far gone.

GM is crazy for raising the price. They should have offered more for the same price if they wanted to compete. But like I said over there, I'm assuming GM is trying to not sell by price, but by brand loyalty and performance. My guess it will slightly out perform the current mustang offering. But not 4k difference out perform, if at all.

I know several people who would've payed $1k for a back window option....

To me, GM didn't pay enough attention to their customers and refine this gen of Camaro enough. Sound like a lot of backyard engineering went into this, not enough departure or new ground to make the Camaro prominent.

I get a GM discount, would never consider this car because it is unsafe even before you put it into gear.

They'll be extremely lucky for it to come in under 3750 with all the standard content of the 1SS. Watch when weights are released and its closer to 3800 than 3700. That will make their forum go into even more of a tizzy. Guess they're have to hold onto Al O's claim of the base no-option 1SS besting the current 1LE just as his claim of 200-300 lbs lighter across the board. LOL:lol:

Ford should be smart about this when it comes to shipping out demos for the inevitable mag comparisons. They should NOT be sending cars with the backup sensors and active cruise control. Those options are hardly ever brought up enough to justify the as-tested cost which is always magnified in importance. Omitting those two options would save more than $1500 and create an even larger delta between the Camaro. A 401A GT with premier trim and nav would be a killer value proposition compared to a loaded 2SS with comparable features.

Probably cost -- but hey -- this way we all have fun doing it the old fashioned way, and Steeda gets to sell their heel-toe pedal covers. I've even thought I might try to design my own pedal cover with a sideways wedge slanting towards the brake pedal to make it easier. I try to rev-match every downshift -- even if not a H-T -- and it's fun! I'm a little conflicted: I want my manual, and while I like the *idea* of rev-matching, it just seems like everything is just inching more and more towards an automatic -- it's like manufacturers are "manualizing" the automatics, and "automaticizing" the manuals. Soon the line will become super-fine, and then blur, and manuals will die, creating a void in the market -- hopefully there will eventually be a backlash, but who knows?

As for me, I really want to like the new Camaro, but as illustrated, I don't like the upper grill, or how thick and tall the c-pillar/rear quarter looks. I'll have to see how it looks in person, and see how it performs. I think they might have done a good job with interior design though.

For ~34,800 out the door, I'll take my GT PP all day, every day. However much better the Camaro may perform, the GT is still a whole lot of car, and I'm still going to need a while to get really get the most I can out of it -- and as others have posted, for the same money, you can buy some important mods that will add power and save weight.
you want auto-rev matching for your Mustang, go pick up an AutoBlip for $ 400.00. Installed one on my 013 Boss and love it!! Fully adjustable for blip duration and delay. Awesome for track days but can be a bit annoying on the street. Fortunately turning it off is as easy as pushing the on/off button.:thumbsup:
